Dcoolb
Yeah, so I am now using Windows 8 Developer Preview... I like some features of it, and then I don't like somethings. I am trying to get used to my new screen resolution, and I do not like how it is semi phone based. But I do like the whole function of how I can press Ctrl + Esc and go back to the menu, and go to Desktop and have it just like I left it. Nice when I want to listen to music. I can not wait till it reaches past Developer Preview and then it will open with more apps.
Guest Yoshi_
The other week I downloaded the developer preview. Took along enough to get it to work on my VM. ;D I like it, cannot wait to purchase the stable and public release ;D
khaos
I heard of it. I saw a screenie of it, and don't enjoy it. :/
Tynach
To be perfectly honest, I liked what I saw in video demonstrations and screenshots - however, I don't think most people will, so I'm betting against it. I'm a Linux geek, and use Ubuntu full time right now. So, part of me hopes that everyone else can get over the changes and enjoy what looks like a cool product. And the other part of me hopes it leads more people to Linux - which seems to be keeping the standard 'Desktop' design still, while also helping to make it Tablet-/Phone-like (especially Ubuntu and KDE's new Netbook plasma shell). Guest Yoshi_
With the tablet like interface. I fail to see how it can work that good for desktop PCs (desktop as in with a computer tower) They should have a Windows 8 portable edition for laptops and tablets and a desktop edition for computer towers which doesn't include the new "Metro" interface but keeps the latest features. This. I feel like the interface works well with touch-screens, but honestly, not too many people have that (excluding phones). Here's a question though: did any keyboard shortcuts change from Windows 7 to 8?
Dcoolb
This. I feel like the interface works well with touch-screens, but honestly, not too many people have that (excluding phones). Here's a question though: did any keyboard shortcuts change from Windows 7 to 8? Well on the Desktop view, when I press Start or CTRL + ESC it brings me back to the "main screen" with all the apps. No others to my knowledge... Though I might edit this later if I find one.
