Shiny Obsidian do/useful for anything?

The daily of the Obsidian Quarry you pick up Shiny Obsidian. Can you use it for anything? And is that the only thing you'll ever pick up from the Quarry?

I've restarted neopets after being gone from it for a few years. I've been trying to restart my account and finding all the new things so if you have any tips or anything I'd love them too ^^

Yep, you can use it to make some petpets in moltara, along with gears, and something else I can't remember the name of.

Good luck rebuilding, first! Second, yes that is the only prize ever to be won :) Third, it is used, along with other materials found around moltara, to form petpets at Tangor's Workshop. The TDN article on it is right here. Hope that helps ^_^

as The Purple Monster said, shiny obsidian is one ingredient to to make moltara petpets at tangor's workshop. Apart from that, shiny obsidian is just another item, often sold for 1 np, or dumped around at money tree. I often use shiny obsidian to do trades, when I pay in pure.
