stephen_hughes
Hey, I was just wondering if you were aloud to sell virtural neopets itens on the TDN forums
Cornflakes
Are you referring to selling "virtural neopets itens" for real money? In that case, no, that's not allowed. Are you referring to advertising your "virtural neopets itens" for sale, like in your shop or trades? Then yes, that's all good. We have a thread for that. Is it sufficient? I find it better if we have a forum instead, so that each person can have his/her own thread to sell his/her stuff. It is very confusing to go to just a thread to look for stuff to buy/sell. I suggest a sub-forum perhaps? And each person can have his/her own thread to buy/sell. (You're also free to bump, but doesn't count to your post count) What do you think?
antiaircraft
We used to have something like that, but as I recall it kinda got out of hand... still, it might be worth considering.
Gammarax
We used to have something like that, but as I recall it kinda got out of hand... still, it might be worth considering. I think it would be nice to have it back. From what was said on the other thread, I'm scared of advertising my items on the neoboards anymore because of the many reasons you can get silenced/iced by the TNT. Besides, I'm willing to go to a lower price of some items I'm letting go of to TDN members. Is there an official way of proposing ideas in TDN? I was thinking of a basic structure such as this: Top Level Title: Neopets Marketplace Sub Forums: Buying, Selling, Trading Some rules: 1. You can only have one thread in each of the subforums (Buying/Selling/Trading) 2. Posts in the Neopets Marketplace do not count to your post count 3. You may bump once every 12 hours. Guest iYoshinho
Neopets has a shop area on the neobards for you to advertise your shop on neopets.

Yes, I know, but as I stated in my post some of us here would prefer not to post on the neoboards because of their strict policies. I, myself, would rather the things I sell go to fellow TDN members for a lower price. 0:) Thought it would be nice to have our own marketplace, do price checks, etc.
antiaircraft
All right, looking through our records it seems like we did have a dedicated forum for this in the past, with much the same rules applied, but unfortunately it degenerated to the point where it became effectively useless. :( The main issue was that most people would post items for sale and never follow up - often they advertised the item, sold it elsewhere, and simply ignored the board they created afterwards, leaving most people offering to purchase the item hanging. This kind of thing is really hard to regulate unfortunately.

I was thinking, would it be possible to start a project where there's somekind of a marquee (like a mini news/rss feed) on the main website only viewable by members for stuff to sell? I think it'd be cool, but it'd take some programming (not that much, but not something very easy either).
Cornflakes
Meh, I don't see how that would be beneficial. People come on here, they post on the "for sale" topic. Stuff gets sold eventually.

That's an interesting idea, but it is largely subject to the same problems as the previous setup. :(
