Key Quest Question

So I'm new to Key Quest, and I was wondering why the prize for winning mini-games is sometimes power-ups and sometimes keys. Is there some sort of score you need to get a key prize or is it just random?

it is random if you get an item or a key when you win a mini-game. As long as you win the mini game.
