Kuroida
I'm having this weird phase over which pets I want as I am trading off some robos come march (yeah. It's a phase. It will pass....hopefully) :P Anyways. Obviously people prefer different types of pets. Do you guys choose what pet stays and what pet goes by its looks? The name? The account theme? The species? What? I personally am aiming for different species, different colors. And only the pets I like of course What about you guys?
Manta
I'm having a problem with deciding, myself :/ When I returned to the site in April, I started trading for/ adopting pets I liked for their looks. (faerie bori, mara shoy, a hissi, and some other cool pets) But now that I'm into customization and really developing characters, I'm starting to feel a little frustrated that these beautiful pets are just rotting on my account. I'm starting to wonder whether it might be better to try and trade off/adopt out what I have in hopes of getting other cool pets. We'll see how it goes, I guess
Parry
I've pretty much got most of my dreamies - Biscuit Yurble (I'm uber-obsessed with this colour and species!), Cloud Gnorbu (I love the mane's appearance a lot), Camoflauge Kyrii - so now I'm hoping the Lab will zap kawaiiAddison into a Mallow Grundo (or at least, change him into a Grundo and then get a Rainbow Faerie quest to make him Mallow). I am fairly picky when it comes to my darling kawaiiAddison caus he is effectively named after Chris Addison, one of the most kawaii comedians ever. Making him a Mallow Grundo would be absolutely perfect.
Cornflakes
Hrm good question...since lately I have come to the realization that I am a neopet hoarder, and I sadly need to adopt out a few. It's not like I can make more sides to hold them all. Stupid TnT and their rules. Anyway, For a pet to get the axe, it MUST be badly named, or have a name that I just plain don't like. I will keep WN pets despite their appearance. However, I will also keep very well-painted pets despite their name. Any pet painted cheap or unpainted AND having a bad name will go. Same goes with lab rat pets that I zap and put UFA - they must have names I don't like. I won't zap pets with good names and then put them UFA. That sounds snobbish. :(
Octopus
The name contributes to whether I keep or throw out a pet if it already has multiple factors against it. If I obtained the pet through zapping, it doesn't stay unless it's a dreamie. If very few wearables look good on them (I prefer small, bipedal pets if only because dresses look better on them) or if they're painted a very wearable-incompatible color, I transfer them out as well. Clearly I'm very shallow <_<.
Spritzie
I create my own pets, so I know I love the name and want no changes. I generally create them in the species I intend them to be (except my future Maraquan Draik was created as a Koi) so that all I need to do is paint them. With the lab ray, I've only zapped a couple I kept. (2 Hissi's which became Fire and Ice. 1 Kau, which is currently a Chomby with a Krawk petpet.) Generally, I adopt pets to zap, or I zap pets with names that don't have a specific meaning. I'll adopt them out if it's an extremely cool pet, but not something I want, as long the name isn't important to me.
Kuroida
Pets I create and paint myself stay on my main. So far I haven't had a lab pet dreamies but if I did I'd put them on my side (also includes pets i've adopted/traded). I don't really care about names. Just no numbers or random letters and I'm usually good. I actually prefer the four legged pets. They look cooler without clothes (I don't like customization). Example, my Lupe looks cool without clothes. My scorchio would just look bare :(
Octopus
That's true, four-legged pets tend to look better without clothes, two-legged pets tend to look better with them. Some exceptions are Darigan and Robot, which look good without additional wearables.
