Rani786 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I am nervous. :worried: Plus I have a question. I recently lost my last baby tooth, and now there is a little stub of a tooth left. What I am wondering is, will they pull it down a bit and put the brace on it, or will they just leave it alone?
Superfly Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Good luck, I just got mine off :) Reguarding your other tooth, they will probably let it grow a little bit then brace it up with the rest.
grass_tiger Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I've never had braces so I have no idea. But I do hope all goes well tomorrow! :) Hopefully you will adjust to them quickly.
Ellie_Penguin Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Don't worry, you will adjust to it very quickly. They will feel weird at first, but it's not that bad so don't worry and good luck! It is actually better if you get on with having braces and forget about them for the rest of your life.
Mira Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I have braces on right now actually. It won't hurt at all. Maybe a few hours after they put them in you might feel a little weird but after it will feel like nothing is there.
Foxy! Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I havent had braces, but most of my friends have, and they just make you talk funny for a few days, and they might feel a bit pressure-y. Hopefully, you may not even have any side efects, besides drooling, lol.
Mira Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 It didn't change one bit how I talked! They have updated braces so they are easier on you.
Foxy! Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Oh, cool! I guess that makes sense, cause the friends I have who experienced talking probs got braces a few years back.
Radiance Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Omgosh good luck lol. I'm suppse to get braces pretty soon :( cuz of my upper teeth.
Rani786 Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 They hurt a bit for the first two days, but now I have adjusted to them fine. Thanks for the support guys!
Empress Keiko Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Yay Rani! Do you like the braces? I heard they can be annoying. Are yours colored?
Mira Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Keiko at first if you get them you win't like them, but when they get off you'll be really happy with the outcome.
wicket25 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Ya. good luck. I always abide by the 3 day rule. most of the time it takes 3 days to clear up. My speech only changed when I got my butterfly and bottom butterfly type thing in but I talk fine now.
Rani786 Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 Yes, I got the colored kind, I got hot pink colored bands. :D I am a metal mouth! For the first few days, I had a slight lisp.
ronnie... Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I don't think I'm ever going to have braces (thanks to mom for perfectly-aligned teeth XD) but my friends' speech went distorted during their first few weeks with braces. Good luck! :D
buzz Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Braces are not bad at all. (unless you have to wear them for over 4 years like me.)
squidge15 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I've had my braces on for over 2 and a half years now. They don't hurt nearly as bad as what some people say. They're just a little sore when you get them tightened every 6-7 weeks. Just pray you don't have to wear elastics, because those things are annoying!
