Mazzew
Is it just me or do neopets get more picky as they gain levels and intelligance. I once had a Bori who refused alot of diffrent foods and toys. She was high in level and had somewhat high intelligance. Do those factors have anything to do with a pet's pickiness? Rae
I was wondering the same thing. I noticed that my Xweetok using to eat those ghost marshmallow things (I can't remember what they're called) when I first created her and now that she has high intelligence/level/etc she refuses too. I'm not sure if it's connected, but I do know that certain foods that have the same amount of characters in their name as your pet's name, your pet will refuse to eat. Masaryk
The way I understand it, the only factor that determines what foods/books/toys your pet will like has to do with the number of characters in your pet's name and the number of characters in the item name. For these purposes, spaces in item names count as characters. Pets won't eat foods that have the same number of characters in their name as in the name of the food (counting spaces too). Example: My pet, Frostgleam (10 characters), will not eat Lime Jelly or Butterfish (both 10 characters). With books, the math is a little more complicated. Pets will not read books that have 2(n+1) or 2(n+1)+1 characters in the title, where n is the number of characters in the pet's name. Example: Frostgleam will not read books with 2(10+1) = 22 or 2(10+1)+1 = 23 characters in the title (again counting spaces). As for toys, I don't know the formula, but I bet there is someone here that could figure it out.
Rae
I was doing some research, although I only did it for 30 minutes or so as I got bored LOL, and I haven't found a formula for toys. I tried experimenting with my pets and I couldn't find anything either. The formula is either very complicated, or too simple that I couldn't figure it out LOL. RayHumbert
Just change the language and you will be okay. I have no idea why such a system was implemented though..
Slinky
I was thinking the same thing. It seems like as with people, when pets get smarter/richer/stronger etc, they develop this "I'm better than that" mentality. I know that's not true (it's a virtual pet, duh) but what determines what books they read and wont read? Lately a couple of my pets have been rejecting almost every book I give them, saying it's boring, but another pet with the same intelligence level will read it. Why is that? o_O
