Rae
Let's talk about our lives. I had 8 hours (STRAIGHT, ONLY ONE 15 MIN BREAK) of math class today -_- I am TERRIBLE at math and it was not pleasant. It's been so long since I've even had to THINK about math, which makes it even harder
Cornflakes
I agree! It's hard to get your number of posts up when there's nothing to talk about! I was going to start some new topics too. yay :) Anyway, What math are you taking? I'm a math tutor. I heart maths. :)
Rae
Exactly! That's one thing I wish would change, is that you can't "bump" old topics. It's not necessarily bumping, just trying to make conversation LOL I'm taking College Mathematics. Some of it is too easy, like what prime numbers are :rolleyes_anim:, and then there's some things I never learned, or haven't learned in YEARS. I got a D- in math last year at college otherwise I wouldn't have to take it. I think I did so bad though because all I wanted to do was party (can I say that here? I can't remember :/) and then I got swine flu and missed two weeks so I did terrible. No excuses though, I've always been terrible at math. It was easy today, we use a program called Aleks so it's on my own pace, but the kids in my class were like screaming to each other and it's like SHUT UP I'M TRYING TO CONCENTRATE. And it's all typed and any typo you get it wrong so I couldn't concentrate so I was doing like "-46" instead of "46" or hitting 7 instead of 6. It was so frustrating. And if you get it "wrong" for a typo, you have to do four extra problems. And you can't use a calculator. So I messed up doing 9^5. /rant/
Cornflakes
Too bad you can't do your online homework at home. Or can you? I find it very difficult to concentrate at school, unless I hook up my fauxPod and listen to some chillout so I can focus. Speaking of which, my hubby got me an iPod Touch 4G today. I'm so spoiled :D
Rae
Yeah RIGHT at the end of the class she told us we can do it at home. I go to Full Sail University, and then do everything weird here. So you do 4 years worth of information in only 2 years, 3 tops, depending on if you're in the extended program or not. So each class is only one month long, so you have to go to class for longer. So classes here are four hours, and labs are four hours, so I have to be at school Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-9pm. My lab is from 5:15 (they give us a 15 min break in case some people have to switch rooms or whatever) until 9 and she said the EARLIEST we'll ever be let out is 8:30. Which is a bummer, since I walk home through not a very good neighborhood. I can't concentrate, and I was listening to music, but then I just want to sing along and not do intense math in my head. I'm hoping I can just do ALL of the work outside of class and pass the finalization assessment and then I would only have to go to labs on test days. Because I don't think I'll be able to survive that class, like at all. But wow you're SO lucky you got a 4G iTouch!! I have the "new generation" the one that came out RIGHT after the first one. I can't keep up with Apple so I've stopped even trying. How do you like it? It's got facetime and stuff on it right?
CAV of Gang Green
At least you guys have iTouches. My father won't let me get a job, and he doesn't have the money himself so I can get an iTouch. But yet he can get my god-sister an iPhone. Granted it cost less, but after the monthly bill, the iTouch is less expensive in the long run. My father isn't even related to my god-sister, and she gets that for her graduation. I graduated this year as well. What did I get?
Cornflakes
But wow you're SO lucky you got a 4G iTouch!! I have the "new generation" the one that came out RIGHT after the first one. I can't keep up with Apple so I've stopped even trying. How do you like it? It's got facetime and stuff on it right? I know right :D It's awesome. It has a camera for pics and vids and things. I've been playing with it all day, downloading apps and such. I've never had an iPod - I always used Creative products for my blessed mp3s, but when my husband informed me that an iPod does like everything and more, I said Hmmmm, wouldn't that be nice to have on campus? And so he got me one. Yay for husbands :) It's 32G and it's like ridiculously thin. I don't know how they do it. I've been loading music on it for two days with plenty of space left. *eeeeeee* At least you guys have iTouches. My father won't let me get a job, and he doesn't have the money himself so I can get an iTouch. But yet he can get my god-sister an iPhone. Granted it cost less, but after the monthly bill, the iTouch is less expensive in the long run. Oh yeah, that bill'll kill you. That's why the iPod is superior. It's the exact same thing without the monthly bill. Throw a Skype and a messaging app on it and you're all set. This is why I wanted one. It holds music (crucial), surfs the web (crucial), takes pics (very important), and makes me feel all l337 :D
AngieJules
@Rae: I always thought myself to be really bad at math but in my sophomore year of college I met a brilliant professor who REALLY took the time to help me. I'm not the "studious" type but I was at every tutorial on campus and online she held; I found myself Aceing every homework, quiz and test. So maybe your just like my professor told me " a person who takes five minutes longer." @ Yukon Cornflakes & Cryonic After the Void: I'm nowhere near Apple's biggest fan (I love my HP and Zune dearly) but I recently bought an Apple iPad and I can't seem to go anywhere without it. It's really a great device, albeit a little pricey.
Cornflakes
Ah gross, I bought a Zune for my husband a few years ago when they first came out and we HATED it. For years I used Creative products. I still use my old Creative Zen Vision:M for playing music, even if it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the iProducts do. Yeah, I'm shamelessly addicted to my new iPod. I never thought about buying an iPad. I just don't think I have that much going on to lug around a phone and an iPod and an iPad. (Like, I'm not really that important. haha) Plus right now I'm mad at Apple for not making their software work properly on Windows, so I'm only going to buy the Apple stuff that I really really need. Yes, the iPod is a need. hehe
AngieJules
@ Yukon Cornflakes. I really cant speak for Zunes pre-third generation but my little Zune (I cant remember the name but its about the same size as the Ipod nano) is great. Actually, what I really like is the software, organizing music files is a cinch  Ive never hear of Creative products, is that an electronic company like Samsung, Apple, etc.? In my day to day life Im usually content with my blackberry, but when Im running to-and-from class the Ipad is a lot lighter than my HP laptop; and since I pay for the internet I usually dont have trouble with the faulty campus wireless. My older brother is the one who started the Apple craze in my family so were all slowly but surely transitioning over.

My older brother is the one who started the Apple craze in my family so we’re all slowly but surely transitioning over. Honestly I had no idea they were even still making Zunes until they were mentioned on TV somewhere the other day. I am glad to hear they have improved. The one we had couldn't even make a playlist. I was like uhhh...back to the store you go! Actually I ebayed it and made most of my money back. But anyway, Creative has been making speakers and audio devices and such for years now. They came out with their own line of mp3 players some time ago. Back in like 2006, my hubby got me one for Christmas. At the time, it sounded MUCH better than an iPod and had a much nicer screen that played video! Back then a video player was elite. But now, the iPod sound quality has improved tenfold and so I embrace them, all except the part where iTunes doesn't work for crap on my Vista machine. hehe
Spritzie
I had a Creative Zen something mp3 player for awhile. It was great, because it had a radio turner in it as well. (Which is why my sister had me get one. She loved it because at her gym, they would broadcast the sound to the TVs over a radio frequency.) But it was only 1 GB, which wasn't enough. So I bought an iPod Nano. (I think it was the last generation before they made them tiny and nothing but screen.) I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Cornflakes
We have an old 1 gig iPod nano too. It still works just fine and now my 10-year-old is going to use it. It's kinda sentimental. :) It's weird to be sentimental about gadgets. haha
jesse_rocket
I've got the most beat-up 2gb iPod Nano. My ex got it free from his work with this points system they had there, and got himself a 60gb iPod. Iwaslike, wow. Thanks. But I love that useless old thing <3 My father-in-law had a Zune, and was all defensive of it when we mocked him, but it got stolen from his hotel room when he visited us last year. He eventually replaced it with an iTouch, and when we went to see them, he couldn't stop enthusing about how great it is, and how much of a piece of crap it made his Zune seem. We were all like "told ya so". It was great.

Rose_682
I still use my Zune, though I would like to replace it with an even more obscure name. The Archos. Probably the 7, but maybe an updated version if they have one by the time I get around to it. I'm not a big fan of apple. My friends all have ipods, and ipod touches, and stuff, but seriously, I don't see the hype. However, if it came down to Zune or Ipod, and no other options, I'd have to settle for an ipod, because they don't sell Zunes in Canada anymore. So even with the new ones being options, I could not get one unless I went to the US, bought one, and immediately voided the warranty by moving it to Canada to live. -_- So yeah :D
Kandice
Hahaha, I love math but I think I'd even die if I had to sit through 8 hours of it. :P I start university in January to become an accountant so I suppose I better get used to it, lol. AngieJules
@Yukon Cornflaks: ahh, thanks for filling me in on Creative products. @ Jesse_rocket: I had the same reaction when my brother bought himself the 60gb iPod. I mean does anyone REALLY need that much capacity!? I use to be all defensive about my Zune (especially when my brother provoked me) but ehh, now it just seems like a waste of energy and breath. @Rose_682: My friends all have ipods, and ipod touches, and stuff, but seriously, I don't see the hype. Me either. But now I'm pretty much apathetic. To each his own :D Wow, I find it very peculiar that Zune doesn't have a market in Canada. Rose_682
They used to have a market in Canada, but they pulled out the year I got mine. I haven't the slightest idea why, but it really limits our options when we want something with a TON of space, but no Itunes.... I don't like ITunes at all. Tyler.
I'm completely fine with my 8gig ipod nano, it's the only Apple product I want
jubinator
I don't really pay attention to Zunes. I knew they were out there, but I don't really know what they look like. At this point, since all my music is on iTunes, it's better if I just stick with iPods. I have a 3rd gen iPod nano, it's so cute! If it breaks, I'm going to try to get another one just like it. I don't care how many gigs it holds, I only have like 200 songs on my iPod at once.
