lucian94
Sorry if something like this has already been posted, but it's a nagging question. That is, we have 18 teams this year, clearly not divisible by 4. So does anybody know what they'll do? 3 tiers of 6, 6 tiers of 3?
Grant~
Since we know that there are four days of finals, it is speculated that there will be four tiers of four and one tier (17th and 18th place) of two. This is not confirmed, though, so don't quote me on it. ;)
Batman
From the Frequently Asked Questions page on neo: At the conclusion of the Double Round Robin phase, all 18 teams will move on to take part in the four-day Finals phase, which will consist of a playoff match-up and a final match-up. Each Finals phase match-up will last two days. The top 16 teams will be grouped by rankings and face off with one another, while the bottom two teams will play in a consolation match to determine the 17th and 18th place teams overall. Within each four-team rank grouping (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16), the highest and lowest ranked teams will play against each other. EDIT: Woops came from the rules page.
lucian94
So will the 17th v. 18th game take place over two days or something?
-Ryan
No, I think 4... All matches take 2 days in the finals, except for that one I guess...
Kosby
So does that mean that we have upto and including the 30th when AC ends to keep racking up points, no matter what place your team is in? Thankyou, and sorry if that is obvious, I'm a smidge confused...
melnick
I think it is 1st-4th, 5th-8th, 9th-12th, 13th to 16th, and 17th and 18th have a 4 day match to avoid last place.

That's correct, except that the AC ends (has ended actually) on the 5th of July.
