Noog
I'm not sure about mac support, but if you eventually end up purchasing an antivirus program, I am highly satisfied with Trend Micro Pro for Windows 7. I don't know if this is an option either, but Firefox has a lot of available antivirus add ons if you use that.
Alde
It's absolutely possible for a Mac, or any other unix-based operating system, to get a virus. However, the market for it is just not as large as Windows.

antiaircraft
Mac is Unix based? I never knew that. If I recall correctly, the underlying backend code for Mac OS X was mostly copied from FreeBSD, a free and open source UNIX-like operating system. And there are many more factors to malware risk than simple market share. ;)
Featheon
To add my limited knowledge on the subject, Macs do get viruses and such but on a much smaller scale than operating systems like Windows. If you want even greater security though definitely get a Linux Distribution such as Ubuntu/Fedora... I can almost guarantee you wont find any virus problems. Last time I checked Apple's computers can run other OS's than Mac OS X.
