fadedangel416
I want to purchase a student ed for adobe cs5... however, one of the requirements is that the dvd-rom drive be dual-layer compatible. I couldn't find anything on google when I searched, and maybe I'm just blind. >.> Does anyone know how I can find out though? My model is the Optiarc dvd rw AD-7561S ATA Device. antiaircraft
Hey there, I couldn't find a specific listing for your drive model (don't you just love manufacturers that aren't clear about how they designate model numbers?), but it looks to be either this one or this one. The second drive model series looks like it might not have dual-layer write support, but I suppose you only need to read the disc anyway. As far as I know, dual-layer support is pretty much a given for DVD drives these days. :)
fadedangel416
Thanks! :D I really wasn't sure if most drives were dual layer compatible or not. (Though I did go ahead and just buy the program, since I figured if I didn't have dual layer I could resell. xD)
antiaircraft
No problem. :) I'm pretty sure decent external DVD drives come fairly cheap these days too, so there's another alternative if you happen to need it.
