sdcd
So my first main goal with the lab map has been to get the avatar. I had a skeith that I morphed into a green uni (check those two avatars :)). I started zapping in January. My uni has gotten different strength, defense, hit points and level changes as well. He (sometimes she) has been glowing, split, brown, skunk, camo, snow, cloud, grey, zapped by Boochi on Sat. and turned baby, and now this morning his is skunk again <_< . In the meantime my son has had 3 species changes :rolleyes_anim: . Does the morphing potion make him immune? :laughingsmiley: I certainly like the skunk color better than baby on a uni. Anyway, I was wondering if you had a lab map, how many color changes have you gotten before a species change? Nine just seems like a lot? ETA: I was just looking at his page and realized this last zap was shadow, not skunk. Not paying attention :laughingsmiley:
CAV of Gang Green
I don't think a morphing potion makes you more immune. The lab is completely luck. As for me, I don't have the lab pieces. And I wouldn't want to risk my pets.
Anisha
I totally agree with CAV. The lab ray is all random and it's all about luck. And my luck always misfires me. :sad01_anim: And the lab ray is so risky. But anyways, your pet changed colors nine times? That must be fun! :)
Masaryk
I've gone four or five months without a species change, but I've also had two in a week. It's completely random.
dasbif
my very first zap changed my species and gave me the avatar. no joke.
sdcd
Okay, dasbif, that is hysterical, to me especially  . I wouldn't risk my coconut jubjub to the lab ray, but I specifically adopted rascal for the lab ray. I'm not looking for any specific species change. I even zapped my kacheek a few times until I got robot. I haven't zapped him again either. It's interesting to read about other experiences. I think the lab ray does not like me. :crying:
Riverus
It must like you to change that often. It is completely luck. I find that approximately once a month I'll get a colour change, but in the past two weeks my Green Uni turned green, then red, then into a green Eyrie, so you never know. Good luck getting the avatar!
Spritzie
I've only had one species change. (With my previous 2 pets, they changed colors to something I wanted to keep, before they changed species.) I started with a Blue Kau, which immediately changed to Green. A day or two later, she became a Korbat. (I almost cried. I dislike Korbats.) Since the change to a Korbat, I've had (All Korbat) Blue, Maraquan, Checkered, Darigan, and now Faerie. She's been Faerie for quite awhile now. And she's been a Korbat for even longer. dasbif
Sorry that I'm just that awesome! :P I'm going to keep lab training that pet and academy/island training another one. i expect him/her to go through many transformations, he/she has switched genders at least 4 times... looneybin21
I need to get a map so I can participate in boards like these. I can afford one now, but if I keep spending my neopoints, I'll never reach my banking goal.
shadows4fairy
Interesting...for me I think usually either the colour and species change, or nothing changes at all... =/ And they always get turned into the plainest pets >.>
sdcd
Just wanted to update: You are now eligible to use 'Pwned by the Lab' as an avatar on the NeoBoards! Rascal turned into a green Xweetok this morning!
Spritzie
I finally got a species change. My Korbat, is now a Usul. So I had 5 color changes before this species change. (Only 1 before it turned into a Korbat.)
Hannah B.
I need to get a map so I can participate in boards like these. I can afford one now, but if I keep spending my neopoints, I'll never reach my banking goal. I so hear you on this. My bank interest just surpassed 100NP a day last week and I found that pretty exciting, let me tell you :rolleyes_anim: I'm not anywhere close to being able to afford the lab map just yet though. I'm saving right now for the PB I want but I figure I might get sick of saving when I'm halfway there, and then break down and buy the map pieces so I can try zapping my pets. Or I might get sick of my pets when I'm halfway into saving (not likely) but still a possibility. I like the idea of adopting a pet to have as an experiment; I adopted my Gnorbu but I think I'll keep her the way she is for a while. Love those cloud Gnorbus ^_^ Can anyone tell me approximately how much they paid for their lab map pieces? I'm wondering how much I'd have to save for the map pieces in comparison to the PB I want, and trying to figure out what I'll do. Argh, so many possibilities! Spritzie
Can anyone tell me approximately how much they paid for their lab map pieces? I'm wondering how much I'd have to save for the map pieces in comparison to the PB I want, and trying to figure out what I'll do. Argh, so many possibilities! I bought a complete set. They wanted a Baby PB (600k) and roughly 350k pure NP. So I paid nearly a million, because I was impatient and made my offer slightly more than they asked for, because I wanted them to accept my offer over anyone else. If you're going for the Mystery Island PB, it's much cheaper, but also unreliable. It's fun to have... but if you have a specific pet you want a specific color... it's not the best. Like I zapped a Kau, hoping for any color... I got a Korbat, that became 5 different colors before becoming a Usul. So you'd have to worry about it changing species, before you got the color you wanted. Hannah B.
...So you'd have to worry about it changing species, before you got the color you wanted. Hmm, yeah that's true. I may play it safe then and not zap my Kau. I might go for a Lost Desert instead of a Mystery Isle PB for her(since they also look awesome but are much cheaper) and then save up again for the lab map for an experiment pet... gah we'll see. Choices, choices. But I suppose I have some time to make up my mind :rolleyes_anim:
Spritzie
I made that mistake with my Kau. I hadn't gotten a species change on previous pets, and I'd had the lab ray for a couple months. First zap, changed her to Green from Blue. Second, female to male. Third, became a Korbat. I wasn't very amused. I wouldn't risk it for pets you want to make sure stay the same species. Though species changes don't happen as often for some people... you never know.
