looneybin21
Well, I'm sure for most of you, work is not fun. I know I hated my last job (not all the time, but enough that the bad outweighed the good), but being in the current economy, we all have to live with what we get. Still, I haven't been employed in over a year, until now. Last week, I officially became an employee of The Home Depot! No, I'm not very enthusiastic about lumber or hardware or landscaping, and I'm not that knowledgable in these areas either, but I'm more than willing to learn and the great thing about The Home Depot is, they are more than willing to teach me. I'm training in their cashier college right now. It's a lot of tedious busy work and it sort of seems like overkill sometimes, but I am learning a lot and their methods are very effective. I haven't had much interaction with the customers yet, but I'm excited to get there. And who knows? Maybe some of that do it yourself, handy dandy fix-it up know-how will rub off on me. looneybin21
Thanks. I have enjoyed it so far. It's only a temporary position, so I may only be employed for the season, but hopefully I will do well enough that they decide to keep me on permanently. nelle
Congratulations! :laughingsmiley: It's nice to read about someone who's both willing and excited to work! Cashier work is great because the time goes by quickly (cause you're having fun) - at least that's how it was for me :) Again, CONGRATS!
