Xmas set!

So I've finally gotten down to doing graphics again after my goodness how long hiatus from graphic-ing! =D

Unfortunately, I think I've lost most of the little skills I had managed to salvage last time @_@. Anyway, comments greaty appreciated! And perhaps tips on how to feather well -.-;; (I usually do such effects manually and they don't turn out too well, like this one @_@) and on elegantly integrating my badly taken photos into my sets! :D

EDIT (without scanlines):

I actually like your avatar a lot. The way you cropped it gives a lot of depth without being too busy.

This signature is very good too, but maybe you should go with a layover pattern different than stripes.

I think the strips make it look a little childish...maybe. Something softer might fit the mood a little better.

I think you picture is integrated perfectly well, I've certainly seen & done worse. I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks for the comments guys! I chose stripes because I'm a diehard fan of scanlines since my old graphic-ing buddies suggested it as a technique to darken the entire image (a lazy method I'll have to admit). So here's another set without the scanlines but with artistic brushes used to create more depth :D Hopefully it works too? @_@ But I'll have to admit I prefer the new set ^^;;

And AhMunnaEatChoo10, there's no such thing as no skills for graphics! You just need a lot of practice LOL. You should have seen my first few sets... @_@

Yeah, I think that look much better now, I mean like I said it looked plenty good before,

but I feel like the softer lines and feathered images have sort of a more Christmassy feel.

p.s. Did you say you took the picture yourself? I think that is just so cool.

I dabble in photography and never though to incorporate my work into graphics.

@AhMunnaEatChoo10: Then practice when you have the time! XD It's only through that you can improve your skills ;)

@futureTXelf: Thanks to your tip, I have a better Christmas set now! :D Yeap, I did take the photo myself. If I am unable to find nice images to use for my graphics, I scan though my photos and my art to see if I can use anything from there. You should try it too! Of course the problem I face with the former is getting photos which are suitable for graphics and are of high enough quality @_@. Hopefully you are a better photographer than I am and hence wouldn't bump into too many of such issues!
