Does anyone know anything about PS2's and memory cards?

Hello all.

For some background, I take exceptional care of my PS2 and it worked flawlessly.

Until...my little brother dropped it off of a 2-foot table.

):

Since then, it's been acting a bit strange. The most prominent thing, however, is when I went to put in Manhunt, a new game I got from GameStop, it would not create a new save file for the game. I was very saddened. It said it was "saving to the memory card in slot 1," however, after an hour of "saving", nothing happened. So I died a bit inside and turned off the game.

I thought it may simply have been the disk, since I got the game used. However, when I tried to create a new file on Kingdom Hearts, a store-bought game that always worked before, it also decided to "save to the memory card in slot 1" for over an hour.

I also tried using a new memory card.

Nothing.

However, a different store-bought game, Kingdom Hearts Re:CoM worked fine, and created a new game file.

I was happy, and retried Manhunt. Twice.

It did not work.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks for reading this and taking the time to help if you do.

I wouldn't be surprised even though it is a small fall, it can run the sensor off... you may want to take it in to a games shop to be looked at (especially a sony store as they will maintain your warranty if you take it to a sony store) so that they can qualify and fix the problem. It sounds like the machine is having trouble reading the memory card even though it says the card is there.

Sony won't take it back, because they're making PS3's now.

But I'll try and take it to GameStop and see what they can do.

I'm kind of a regular there, hah.
