Awesome_Paul
People in the Uk may know about this, But people in America will have No Idea This is happening But the Good ole, Town by the Sea BRIGHTON (in the UK) Is getting a new Tourist Attraction Called the i360 (brighton Eye sounds so much better though) It has just been approved by the council and will be started whenever teh builders can be bothered. http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/videos/index.var.738.0.0.php (This shows a Video of it using virtual Technology) From the topp you will be able to see 25 Miles in any Direction and it rises up to 136 Meters (The tallest Buidling in brighton) But looking at this, the attraction will look so out odf place But this will bring forward 100 New Jobs which is a good point, but the problem is, Does this tall massive thing belong in Brighton. And to do this they are tearing down the West Pier (been around for hundreds of years through fire etc) Because this will cause extra Road usuage and that way more pollution by all visitors? So My Question is, by looking at the Video and the picture, Would you rather go visit London, (the UK Capital and all of their attraction) Or Go to Brighton. Empress Keiko
I couldn't get the video, but I'm fine. No offense if anyone lives in Brighton, but I would not go there to see some retarded tower in the middle of nowhere. I would stay in london, because there is more to do. cloudedsunny
I couldn't see the video either but UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is SO UGLY!!!!!! I would so much rather see a beautiful old pier, history alive than some piece of crap, pole. If you wanna birds eye view take a helicopter/balloon ride or something, that is much less invasive and charming. Plus, isn't brighton KNOWN for it's beach/pier culture?! I'm an Aussie and that's the impression I've always had. And the name makes it sound like yet another mac thing taking over the world. YUK. Matt
It does look cool, but what doesn't in simulations? I suppose it does look ugly, with the single pole and everything. But it puts Brighton on the map (For something cool. Heh.) so I don't see why not.
Chipmonker
I agree with cloudedsunny. If I was visiting the UK, I really wouldn't like to go see some tower of which I have seen bigger. Maybe the Japanese tourists would, but not me. It also look really awkward sitting there.
Guest strophysicist
*Cough*eyesore*cough* Instead of building that... thing... just build several foundries. Should give over 500 jobs.
Awesome_Paul
No offense if anyone lives in Brighton, but I would not go there to see some retarded tower in the middle of nowhere. I would stay in london, because there is more to do. well i dunno abiout a retarded tower, it would have greater sites, be only place where you could see france and it would ahve great views of the coutryside around brighton. Also Keiko, no offence taken, but i myself is from the town which this conversation started, I myself am from "the middle of nowhere" how you would place it, Brighton. Wherever you look at the countries America, New Zealand, Austrailia, France, UK, Germany, Russia, Japan. The list would go on for ages, Each Country has a "Middle of nowhere" but in my opinion Brighton&Hove is well known for some of its landmarks and historical features: Staying In London/Manchester (any Big Cities) How could you see the landmarks of -Brighton Royal Pavilion -Brighton Palace Pier -Brighton Clock Tower (built in 1988 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.) -The Chattri Monument -Preston Manor and much much more. Yes London is teh capital of UK, but the capital does not mean mean the best, when visiting America would you only visit Washington because thats the Capital, Nope, Does that mean other cities like New York or California have no interest because Washington is the capital Nope. so not sure where teh "middle of nowhere" is but im sure its not in Brighton, maybe there is no such thing as "the middle of nowhere" because each spot, each step of the earth, is different so you are always in one place or another, Never in "Nowhere" Plus, isn't brighton KNOWN for it's beach/pier culture? I think its known for both, It has 2 Piers, the Palace Pier and the West Pier, I think they have been trying to do somethign to teh West Pier because at the moment its pretty useless, its 3/4 destroyed, its unsafe to walk on and it has gone through a big fire. But it puts Brighton on the map (For something cool. Heh.) I think most people in the UK knows it exists, and it has been known on the UK map for quite popular but with this, i think it will make the whole world relise Brighton is on the map, because there is quite alot to do in brighton, its full of historical landmarks and loads of entertainment. kikaown
I don't think its a good idea, because of the arguments previously mentioned, but it doesn't look that bad actually. Maybe its just the angle of the picture.
Empress Keiko
:* Sorry about that. But other places would be more...choice to go to. Tokyo, Bangkok, Other cities, can give you stuff for you to do for many days.
MOPGhost
That kinda looks like the CN tower. CN tower is the tallest free standing tower and it's beside the Roger's centre/sky dome so Cn tower belongs but I don't see anything for the tower. Makube_X
That tower looks like a pretty desperate attempt to draw in more tourists. Personally, I wouldn't travel somewhere to see one weird, out of place tower. I'm sure Brighton would have more appeal without it.
