rebsigetsi
Yeah, I'm really sorry if this topic is in the wrong place or whatever, if it is move it, or do whatever you like. But don't delete it, please. Tonight, at about 8pm, my dog went missing. My mum opened an outside door, and my dog shoved past her to go outside, so mum went to fetch her coat (it's cold) and a few seconds later, when she went out, my dog was gone! And it's really worrying, because people had been having fireworks, and it's really cold, and I'm really worried. We've been up and down the village several times, but he's nowhere to be seen... and tomorrow there'll be more fireworks... And I don't like not being able to find him. His name is Tommy. He is some sort of sheep dog thingy, black and white, mostly black, and about 3 human years old. He wears a blue collar, which has a silver nametag with my surname, "Gethin" and our phone number on it. If anyone was to approach him, I would say to be careful, as he can be quite vicious at times... I don't want him to be out there, biting someone, or chasing sheep, as he could be hurt himself, or killed. And I don't want to end up finding his body on the side of a road. Or frozen to death. I'm gonna go back out to look for him in a second, after I've finished this. If there's anyone out there, who lives in Wales, near Aberystwyth, I would be very grateful if you could post here to report if you have seen him... And I hope that he didn't hurt you. Although the chances of someone here finding him are very low. I just want him back... :crying: Argh. Long post.
Foxy!
Try some of this stuff- it helped when my dog was lost, 'cause we found him. -Get the loudest whistle you can find ( or a person who can whistle a high note VERY loudly) and blow it. -Shake his dog food can or some other thing that makes a noise familiar to him. -Call his name all around (duh.) -If you think he may be near, prepare food or something edible with a strong scent that he likes and he may come running. Y E L L O W S T A R
An idea: Make a lot of little, itty bitty notices *so you don't waste a lot of paper* with 'MISSING' on it, in BIG letter. A little photo if you have one, and your phone, with some description at the bottom. I really hope he's found. My friend's dog was lost once... Meeptroid
Sorry to hear that. I've had a dog that ran away a few times before. Fortunatly, we've managed to find him. Too bad he got cancer 'cause I miss old Sammy.
Ellie_Penguin
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you find him soon :crying:. When you find him, try to buy him a special tracking device. You can write with markers "missing" posters or try contacting your local radio.
Radiance
Sorry to hear about your missing dog. You must be heart broken. You should post many posters around your neighbourhood, it might help.I Hope you find him!
Eric
:( So sorry to hear about this. I live nowhere near you, but I agree with the whistle idea Foxyloxy gave. Except, you should probably pick up a dog whistle from your pet store - doesn't make a sound to the human ear, so nobody'll complain.
rebsigetsi
Awwwwwwww, you guys really are great! Well, the good news is that we found him! Well. My dad did. Dad came home from a friends house at about 00:30 am, and yelled Tommy's name, and he came running home! And we know now why he ran away. He's really really really really (etc) terrified of fireworks, as we found out last night. When he was in the porch, where he sleeps, he was shaking with fear! And when we brought him into the living room to try and comfort him, he was trying to hide under Dad's desk! So we'll just have to watch him a bit better next year. And thanks for all of your suggestions guys! I think it would be a good idea to get him like a tracking device, but it would depend on the price. My family's sort of a bit low on cash at the moment, so we're trying not to spend to much. But if the tracking thingy would be cheap enough, maybe I'll get it for Tommy for Christmas! :laughingsmiley: No. But it would be a good idea. And I was going to do posters, but fell asleep planning them.... Thanks again guys! To any staff members out there, maybe you want to delete this topic now? Or change the topis name to something like "Report your missing dog here!" Or can I do that?

Flower
I'm so glad you found him! :) It happened the same to me some years ago, my dog escaped when my mom opened the door and my dad run after him but he was too fast. We never found him. :( And by the way, my dog is terrified of fireworks too, he always shakes a lot and tries to hide in some dark place. One year for Christmas we tried giving him some sleeping pill, but my mom doesn't want anymore because it shocked her a lot to see him lying there not moving. rebsigetsi
I'm really sorry Flower! I hope I haven't upset you! M. I have no idea how much the tracking devices cost. I've heard f the microchipping thing too. Would that be cheaper? No mods changing the topic then? Maybe no one has noticed. ^_^
Foxy!
Microchipping is MUCH cheaper. At one event in my town a few months ago, they were offering slots to get your pet chipped, and it was only twenty dollars!
Ellie_Penguin
YAY, I'm glad you found your dog! Tracking devices are not really cheap (depending on your point of view of what's cheap and what isn't).
rebsigetsi
$20 dollars eh? Sounds cheap enough. How much is that in British Sterling? Well. My views on cheap or expensive, probably depensd on how much money I have at the time. Lol.
