tropic
is somehow possible to get your account back after it was hacked like thousands of others (probably) by the same source one day? I swear that I was the innocent one!! 0:) :crying: please click!<

-Ryan
Wait, how did this happen? What scam did you fall for? CGer? Keylogger? Cheesie?
Deepti M.
I did that. how long do you think it will take? :sad02: It depends for everybody. It can take up to two weeks, or even longer. :(
tropic
Wait, how did this happen? What scam did you fall for? CGer? Keylogger? Cheesie? I clicked on a link, and it sent me back to the tp main. I just thought that it was a broken link. so, i went on with neopian life. Then neopoints started adding on to my 197k, by the hundreds. Then I neomailed my friend on what was happening. All of a sudden I saw about seven people offering on trades. I went to the tp, and saw trades that I never even created. And in the description was the same description with the link that I clicked. I was so startled that I didn't think about changing my password. Then I was logged out, I tried logging back in, but my account was frozen. :crying: I don't know what those mean :*
shiranui_xiii
A CG'er is a cookie grabber, which takes your computer's cookies (which hold info like passwords and whatnot). A keylogger is a program that runs without your knowledge and tracks what you type, and that's how it steals your passwords. I'm not sure about a Cheesie, though. I've never even heard of it before. It's a shame about your account, though. Hopefully it won't be too long before you get it back. :)
tropic
i think that it was none of them. i never typed in my pass, and nothing else was stolen from other sites. o_O :*
antiaircraft
It was most likely a cookie grabber in that case. :( But yeah, as was mentioned earlier, the most you can do is send a form to TNT and hope for the best. Good luck!
Lion
I'm not sure about a Cheesie, though. I've never even heard of it before. xD Cheesie is a 'cracker' person, who is hacking Neopia's top accounts. Look on the Top 20 pets page on the tdnBP, most of them are frozen, such as Munsterpoo. Sounds like a CGer, though. Hope you get your account back soon! Deepti M.
It does sound like a CG. Hope you get your account back. :)
Masaryk
I'm sorry to hear that your account got CGed. It happened to me too a couple of months ago. It took a week, and several tries at sending in the form, but I did get my account back. Just be patient, and don't give up hope!
tropic
thanks for the support. did you get your np back? what about items in your inventory? did you lose all of your items in cluding in your inventory? o_O
Masaryk
thanks for the support. did you get your np back? what about items in your inventory? did you lose all of your items in cluding in your inventory? o_O Actually, I got extremely lucky, and TNT froze my account before the CGer stole any of my neopoints or items. From what I understand, my account was just used to try to scam other users. It's unfortunate that you had stuff stolen from your account, because TNT doesn't give back lost items. I hope you didn't get scammed out of a lot of stuff, but at least stuff can be earned again (even if it does take a long time). I think it would be way worse to lose pets. tropic
actually, it was a trading scam. nothing was lost, they just got onto my account and put this strange wishlish with a link in it to scam others. nothing was lost before i was frozen (not that i know of) It's unfortunate that you had stuff stolen from your account, because TNT doesn't give back lost items. I hope you didn't get scammed out of a lot of stuff, but at least stuff can be earned again (even if it does take a long time). I think it would be way worse to lose pets. yeah, losing pets would be devestating! I was just wondering even if you had neopoints from before you were frozen, if TNT put them back in your account, instead of just the pets. Masaryk
My account was exactly as I had left it. I had all of my neopoints, items, and pets. It's good that you don't think a bunch of your stuff was stolen. I hope everything is fine with your account when you get it back.
tropic
that's great, becuase i have heard that some people say that when your frozen and get your account back, all of your np is gone and some of your items too. i don't know what they were talking about ^_^
antiaircraft
I believe that would happen in the case that somebody actually compromised your account and stole the NP and items in question. I'm pretty sure it's TNT's policy not to restore those. Tamara
That's really scary. Honestly, I'm scared senseless about getting CG'd or anything else. Do you use IE or Mozilla? I've heard people on IE are A LOT more vulnerable to getting hacked.
antiaircraft
Do you use IE or Mozilla? I've heard people on IE are A LOT more vulnerable to getting hacked. Just nitpicking here: 'Mozilla' refers to either the Mozilla Foundation, the company that supports Firefox, or an application suite that was obsoleted more than three years ago. If you're looking for a short term for the web browser 'Mozilla Firefox', please use 'Firefox' or the abbreviation 'Fx'. Otherwise you'll confuse us geeks (since the Mozilla Foundation also supports 'Mozilla Thunderbird', 'Mozilla Fennec', 'Mozilla Seamonkey', 'Mozilla Sunbird', and so on). :) Also, please don't misuse the term 'hack'/'hacker'. See this topic. Uh... sorry about that. I'm stuck in nitpicking mood. :P Anyway, preamble aside, of course Firefox is far more secure than IE. It's FOSS, with a nimble release infrastructure, great teams of security developers, plenty of awesome volunteer testers... I could go on and on. ;)

Anyway, in a quite a few cases, yes, some NP/items are gone from the account. :( Most people would be happy just to get their account back though -- such as me, this has a few site themes and trophies and stuff that I would hate to lose. Masaryk
I got the same response from Heidi the first time. I had to try again another two times, before my request went through to Emily, and she gave me my account back. If you want some help brainstorming info for the form, send me a PM. Don't give up hope! You'll get your account back eventually.
C.A.V.
I thought they were called tracking cookies, not cookie grabbers. Sorry to here about your account though...
