The Darkest Faerie
I just drew this on lined paper that happened to be near me, and this is what I've done... It looks better in life, as usual. The quality is not that good with my camera... but it's the only one I have. So comments?

The Darkest Faerie
I tried my best to make myself unsure about what I've written in the notebook. I'm bad at Literacy. I knew someone would point out the legs... I'm better at hands than legs, personally. I have a personal crit... I don't really wear kimonos, yet my Meridell dress looks a lot like one. Well, Meridell pattern. That's how I got the idea, the Meridell shield. I had to check the order of the colours though... I have saved a smaller version now, which I'll edit into the first post. And I did Meridell colours for the frame. :P
celticheavens
Good try ^_^ ! The image is a little too small for me to see much @_@ but here're some stuff I'd picked up: I have a personal crit... I don't really wear kimonos, yet my Meridell dress looks a lot like one. Try to look for other drawings of kimono or for real life photos on them as a reference for your drawings, it helps a lot! The same goes for postures of your character. It's not easy to get that right on the first try, especially if the shot you want is at an angle, but with references and a lot of practice, it gets a lot easier :). For me, I suggest doing easy poses first (such as hands by the side, legs slightly apart, or even a wave etc) and once you get used to the idea, you can experiment with harder poses and different angles to add a tinge of spice to your pieces. ^^ It would be nicer if your image was bigger in the frame too imo. Keep drawing~! =D
caliama
Oooh, nice! Since I do lots of faces, I will just critique the face. =) So, to make it more realistic, I would start by putting the eyes in a lower position on her head. Even though it may not look like it, eyes are actually located halfway down the face (hopefully you understand what I'm saying. =P I'm not good at explaining lol). Once you get the eyes in the right spot, you can draw the rest of the face based off of that. So that means, lower the nose's position. The mouth looks like it's in the right spot. In your picture here, the mouth and nose are too far apart. Once you move the nose down, it should look about right. So basically, move down the eyes and the nose. Also, I think that her face a little too long, but you have the right idea. I can't quite tell from the pic though. Anyway, you're doing great, and I think that you should keep drawing! (BTW, I always feel cocky when I critique something. Hopefully I don't sound cocky lol!)
