Lutarist Jake Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Why don't you make people who have achieved a certain number of post be a staff member to reward him/her? For example: 2000 posts-Mod 2500 posts-Temporary News Staff (Still a Mod) 3000 posts-News Staff, Mod 3500 posts-Content, News, Mod Whatcha think?
Eric Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 This is perhaps not such a great idea, because a] it encourages spam, b] creates a huge staff base (potentially), and c] makes people staff who are perhaps not suited to the job. Not necessarily the opinion of everybody else. Just mine. ;)

Arrogance Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 And mine, I agree. :) That's why we have "super" members and so on. And mine too, it would really... mess up the system.
The Big Cheese Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I definitly agree, I mean if we could potentily have like 20 news posters etc.
Samuel Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 The general concensus is a no. There are people with posts that spam. There's no way we'd ever give them moderation powers. And let them into the whole admin panel/database just because they posted? Isn't going to happen :P We look at Content/News applications for sure, and those can be accepted regardless of post status. A Moderator can only be picked, and not by application. Topic closed.
