Guest �strophysicist Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Shoemaker-Levy 9 is a comet that was split apart in 21 peices by Jupiter on a pass by, then in 1994 all 21 peices crashed into Jupiter. The bruises left by Shoemaker-Levy 9 on Jupiter's gas surface were as big as the Earth. That is why I named my Xweetok Shoemaker_Levy_9.

It was said to be horrible but a feast for the eyes of astronomers! And guys, stop being so down about an asteroid that may not even hit us!
