tsaria_outsider
Ok, so my work has been laying off a ton of people lately. They say it is because of the economy (even though we work in the medical field). Last Friday, the layed off five people. Today (since tomorrow is a holiday for us) they let go another seven. I've been working at this job for four years now. That's a decent amount of time, but they have let go people who have been there even longer. Also, my last review stunk *cries* Every review before this one was awesome. I always had a few above average and the rest met the jobs requirements, but this time I got a bunch of 'needs improvement'. I haven't been doing any worse. I kind of feel they are setting me up to get rid of me. I've never been layed off before, and it is rather depressing just thinking about it. Masaryk
Wow, that does really suck! I can't believe that the layoffs aren't seniority-based. I don't know what the unemployment benefits are like where you live, but it's still not fun being out of work. What medical field are you in, if I might ask? Unstream
Aw that stinks. I guess I can kinda relate. My mom got laid off sometime at the end of last year (being the newest employee), and my dad was just laid off this Monday (being in the auto industry). Good thing my mom found another job though. Well good luck with keeping your job! Know that I'll be here to support you the best I can!
