Posted

I got it too and stupidly opened it, im doing a full system scan now but it led nowhere so don't open it!

Posted

I opened it too and quickly closed it, did they ban that person yet?

Posted

Yes the message was sent to me too. But I didn't open it because nobody sends me important or "real" messages these days.

I don't know but my system picked up 36 privacy related cookies, not sure if that was why but I did the scan yesterday...

Please just ignore it and delete it. Do not visit any off site links, as they may be inappropriate or contain cookie grabbers that may compromise your Neopets account or even worse.

But did you delete that username who was sending us these messages?

Posted

All of this user's harmful PM's have been removed from our system.

In the future, do not click suspicious links, especially those with ".ru" extensions. :)

Isn't .ru just a domain extension for Russian users? Not all of them are bad sites.

Posted

No, not all Russian sites are bad. There are many good Russian sites. But Russia is known for producing a higher-than-average number of spammers and hackers. That's what happens when there's so many educated and unemployed people living in one place.

Posted

Yup. I know that all Russian sites aren't evil, but whenever I've received anything from any of them, it's always been spam or hackers. So, as a result, .ru sites are instantly suspicious to me. b)
