livvy
Okay, I wrote this when Michael and his girlfriend broke up. He was WAY too attached to her. I suppose I ought to be used to holding other people's broken hearts. I've done it before. But it never gets any easier... In my hands this heart is beating The gruesome rhythm keeps repeating A feeble pulse, a gush of blood My tiny hands can't stop the flood Of bitter tears in steady streams The pain of loss, of broken dreams Of promises that won't be kept Of empty arms where once she slept I can't replace the love he felt Or make the icy silence melt Or cause the pain to go away All I can do is kneel and pray And do my best to understand This breaking heart in two small hands This is pretty different from my other poems, but hopefully it's still good. livvy
Thanks! I can only write poetry when I feel something so strongly that I can't explain it in normal language, which doesn't happen too terribly often. I've posted two other poems... I can try to dig up some more if you'd like.

livvy
Ha, thanks, but I doubt I will be. I can't force myself to write on deadline. I don't think publishers would like that too much. =P
Stephé
Awww........that sounds so sad :( I find writing poems are a great way to express your emotions. Even though they might not make sense to other people, or if it ends up into a writing mush, it'll help. But its a very emotional poem Livvy. Nicely written. ;)
livvy
It was a pretty painful time. But it's better now. :) I don't like this poem as much as the other two I posted, because it's harder to connect to. It really helped at the time though, and I guess that's what matters. antiaircraft
Ha, thanks, but I doubt I will be. I can't force myself to write on deadline. I don't think publishers would like that too much. =P Well I say you're good enough a poet to have the publishers struggling to stay ahead of your deadlines. :P And I don't know about other people, but personally I find this poem quite easy to connect to - it's a situation I've run across more times than I like to recall. :( But yeah, your writing is exceptionally good at carrying emotions and thoughts across! Unstream
Ha, thanks, but I doubt I will be. I can't force myself to write on deadline. I don't think publishers would like that too much. =P Well, most artists don't have a deadline, unless they're being hired to write/draw/make something. And you could always be a one-hit wonder, like Harper Lee :P But what do you mean by it's harder to connect to?
