CasiCane.
AND a slightly suggestive comment towards the end. NOTE: This is NOT the final draft. I definately had to go through and fix some of my language in this :P. Also, when I pasted it, it didn't fix all my pretty indents Y_Y So ignore that heh. She sat in the patiently in the local café, waiting for the waiter to return with her order. She stared out at the busy streets, watching young children play and laugh, couples browsing the shop windows for furniture, dog owners discussing their lives. She simply smiled as she watched each and every one of them, leaning back in her chair and staring up at the calming sky. “Here you go miss,” the waiter said alarmingly, shaking her out of her own peaceful world. “That will be $9.64.” He said to her with a polite smile. She rummaged through her change purse and handed him a ten, smiling back at him. “I’ll just go and get your change ma’am.” he said, turning to head back into the shop. “Keep the change. I have enough as it is.” she said, picking up her coffee and taking a sip. “Oh, why thank you.” He turned and went back into the shop. She stretched out and slinked down in her chair, nibbling at her donut and skimming through all the people in the crowds, each one giving off a different vibe. The rich to the poor, strong to weak, right and wrong, each one of them had their own way of intriguing her. She finished up her donut and coffee, standing up and grabbing her purse, and walking back through the café to head out the main door. Walking out onto the busy street, she smiled at everyone she came across, sometimes saying hello if she felt like it. She skipped over to the bus shelter and took her seat, laying back and closing her eyes, drifting off into her own world once again. She pictured all the things that made her happy, everything that made her feel good, all together. She smiled to herself and sighed happily, sitting up to look down the street to see if the bus was coming yet. She watched as an older man stood under the shelter beside her. “Hello there.” she said politely with a smile. “Huh? Oh, hey.” he replied, looking up abruptly then back down at his feet. “Fabulous day out isn’t it?” she asked. “Yeah, sure I guess.” She began to speak again, and then noticed a bus pulling up to the bus shelter. She stood and picked up her bag, walking up to the steps and turning back to look at the man. “Have a good day.” She smiled, and he just grinned then looked back down yet again. She took her regular seat at the back of the bus by the window so she could watch the scenery go by. She opened her bag and ruffled through it, pulling out the newspaper and leaning back. She started reading all the different headlines till she could find one worth reading. She finally got into one, when suddenly felt a cold hand on her shoulder. “Well, hello there Anna.” She turned to look at who it was, and her cheerful expression left her face and was replaced with hatred. “What the heck do you want Carter?” “Oh my sweet, just paying a friendly hello to my favorite person in the world.” She rolled her eyes and scoffed at him, pushing his hand off of her shoulder. “Why don’t you crawl back down to the underworld, where you belong.” She said, looking back down at her newspaper and looking for where she had left off before being rudely interrupted. He sat beside her and grinned, taking her paper and folding it up. “Don’t try to ignore me Anna. You know that won’t work.” He smirked, putting her paper in his bag. “Darn you, Carter, why do you pull this. I know you hate me.” She said angrily, trying to reach for her paper, but he grasped her wrist and smiled more. “Hate is such a strong word. I prefer…loathe. What about that?” “They are the same thing you moron. Get away from me before I tell the-” “Who the heck are you going to tell Anna? The driver? He will throw us both off, and then I will enrage you even more. So might as well put up with me while we are on the same bus.” She sighed and yanked her wrist from his grasp, glaring at him. “Okay, what do you want?” She finally asked. “Do I need a reason to randomly talk to my enemies? You know, during wars the enemies would go and talk at night. Then in the morning, kill each other because they had too.” “…Carter you are so dumb. Just leave me alone! I know where you live.” “And I know your residence, so don’t even start to threaten me without thinking it through first.” He growled, slipping a hand around her throat, his smirk fading away. She gasped and started breathing heavier, looking at him. “What the heck do you think you’re doing?” She said through her breaths, knowing that in certain situations, he would not hesitate killing her instantly. His evil smirk returned and he gripped her neck tighter, making her gasp for air and get a worried look on her face. He leaned over to her so his lips were but an inch from her ear. “I’m just warning you to cooperate with whatever I throw at you darling. You would make one ugly stain in a hidden alley, or cause quite a bit of attention on this bus.” He whispered in her ear, noticing a few people had become aware of him grasping at her, and he suddenly let go, smiling at the few, and then quickly turning to look in her eyes. “Just remember that sweetie. Cause’ if you make the wrong move around me, it could result in a sudden end to your life.” He whispered still, hopping up as the bus stopped, throwing her paper back on her lap and getting off the bus. Anna sat quietly in disbelief of what had just happened, picking her paper up and coughing nervously, returning to what she had been reading. “Excuse me, miss?” Said an older voice, and she turned to look beside her, seeing a woman, looking to be about 70, sitting in the seat opposite her. “Yes ma’am?” She replied. “I noticed that man beside you was getting quite cozy with you. Are you alright?” She said, her head slightly tilted in a confused way. “Oh, yes. Just an old friend, toying with me. I’m perfectly fine.” She lied. Keeping Troy Carter’s secret was one thing she dreaded most in her peppy life. But she couldn’t let anybody know of him. If she let it slip, it would only result in her own death. “Oh, okay then. Sorry to bother you hun.” Said the woman, smiling quaintly and looking back down at a magazine she had. Anna nodded with a smile and looked out her window on the bus, sighing and closing her eyes, hoping for the ride to be over soon. And it did, moments later. She heard the driver announce their stop, and she hopped up, grabbing her paper and tucking it neatly under her arm, walking softly off the bus, over to her apartment complex. She walked over to the door, opened it and started up the stairwell to her small home. Upon first opening her door, a small array of colors came dashing up to her. Her calico cat, Ben. “Hello there Benny. You wouldn’t believe who I saw on the bus today.” She said, closing the door behind her and picking the small creature up, cradling it in one arm and setting the paper down, plopping down in a small recliner and leaning back. The cat mewed softly, as if asking who it was she had seen. “Oh no one too special. Just that evil man, Carter.” She growled, sighing angrily, the cat squirming about some. “I’m sorry if I scared you sweetie. But he just ticks me off so darn much. I don’t even know how to explain it.” She said softer, leaning back in her chair completely and stroking the cat’s back slowly, closing her eyes. Troy Carter made his way through the bustling streets, back to his mansion on the hill. He was beginning to get thirsty by now, but would take care of that later on, after dark. He pushed through groups of people, who in return would yell nasty comments at him, which seemed to bounce right off of him. He was soon walking up the steep hill to his home, grinning to himself. She is so foolish he thought. Thinking she can outrun me forever, thinking she will always keep the secret. Actually believing such things is childish of her. Which is exactly what she is, a child. Imprisoned in the body of a stunning woman. He looked up suddenly with a disgusted look on his face. Only the look was aimed towards himself for thinking such things about Anna, the one woman whom he could never trust. Except with his one secret. livvy
It hasn't been written yet, hence the title "VERY small bit of my story." Don't worry, she'll get to the end eventually. =] (I'm seriously debating whether or not I want to make a compulsive-editor-type comment right now... I think I'll just mention that you need to be consistent with your use of periods, commas, and capitalization around dialogue. But I already told you about that, and it won't be hard to fix.) It's REALLY good, by the way. It'll make a great book! =D

CasiCane.
^_^ Here ya go, next segment. I'd just like to add again that if any of you buy the final copy some day *I'll sign yours first ;) haha* expect there to be a lot of language and perhaps one or two slightly risque scenes. That being said....enjoy the next bit! Troy ran quickly up the many steps of his large house, unlocking his door and hopping inside, surrounded by the thick aroma of the incense he had burned before he had left. He closed the door hard and walked across the main room of his house, hanging his jacket up and looking around, observing his many objects. The grand fireplace, original paintings from the 1500’s he had acquired, his faithful pet, Katie. He walked over to the large case and opened it, allowing the large python to coil around his arm. “Hello, my sweet.” He whispered to her, petting it gently as he walked to a leather loveseat opposite the fireplace, sitting down and staring into the ashes from the fire he had burned the night before. Anna slowly began to open her eyes, yawning and looking at the cat, purring deeply on her lap. She picked him up and sat him aside, standing and stretching. She looked over at the clock on the wall. Gosh, could I really have slept that long? She thought to herself, noticing she had laid down at 2, and it was now 6. She walked over to the small kitchen, getting herself a glass of water and stepping out onto her balcony that overlooked the street below her. Ben came scurrying up beside her, purring and nuzzling at her feet. “Let me guess, you want to go explore the park some?” She asked, to which he replied to by mewing happily and pawing at her legs. “Okay Ben, let’s go.” She smiled, walking back into the apartment and grabbing his leash, clipping it to his small collar and leading him outside. She walked down the street with him, not surprised that there weren’t many people out, seeing as how she lived in the shady area of the city and it was already getting dark out. Though when she did see one person walking towards her, she sighed and shook her head. “You wouldn’t happen to be following me, would you Carter?” She asked, tilting her head slightly and smirking at him, to which he replied with also tilting his head, instead of his regular smirk. “Excuse me miss, do I know you?” He asked, standing up straight again and smiling at her. “Um, what the heck are you talking about? Don’t try to play mind games on me. It won’t work.” “Miss, I’m serious. I’ve never met you. And I don’t know how you got the name Carter…I’m Damon, nice to meet you.” He said, smiling still and reaching a hand out towards her. Anna made a disgusted face at him and pushed his hand away, staring at him dumbfounded. “You just threatened me this morning! Are you like, drunk or something? If so, I can take you home I suppose…” She sighed, leaning forward to see if she could smell any alcohol on his breath. “May I please know your name? I’m getting tired of calling you miss, just a wee bit frustrating.” “It’s me Anna you idiot!” She yelled at him, scoffing and pushing past him, pulling Ben along behind her. “You don’t have to be so rude! I just wanted to know your name and why you thought I was someone I’m not! Sorry for being normal!” He yelled after her, but she had already gotten a fair distance away from him that it would be pointless to say something back to him. That thing probably is drunk. Gosh, I can’t believe him she thought, shaking her head and walking into the park with Ben, sitting down on a bench and watching him sniff around the few bushes surrounding her. Troy slowly opened his eyes, seeing the snake was back in his cage. Now how did he get back in there? I haven’t been up since I first lay down… He thought to himself. Must have been too tired to remember he thought, shrugging. He stood up and walked to Katie’s cage, reaching inside and petting him once then walking to his kitchen, seeing a cupboard open. Now I certainly don’t remember getting anything to eat he pondered, trying to think if someone could have gotten inside while he had been sleeping. Troy couldn’t remember anything really. He got up that morning, went to town, had that small run-in with Anna on the bus, came home, took a nap, and then awoke. That was it. He walked to his phone and picked it up, preparing to call Anna and asking if she had come into his house whilst he had been asleep. That filthy thing probably broke in and stole something he thought, growling and dialing her apartment. “Hello?” She said sweetly, making him giggle softly. “Anna, you conniving little thing. Did you not think I would notice?” He asked, leaning back in the chair beside the phone and rolling his eyes. “Gosh darn you, I just saw you not even a half hour ago. What do you want?” She replied, which he scoffed and jumped up angrily, as if she was right in front of him. “You know darn well the last time I saw you was this morning. Don’t pull the innocent stuff on me. You were here, my place is all weird.” “I’m not putting up with you crap, Carter-” She began to speak, resulting with him snapping at her. “I wish you would call me by my first name darling, calling me Carter sounds so darn…odd.” he said, smirking to himself. “We’re not friends; I have no right to call you by your first name, Carter.” she said to him. Troy bit his lip and slammed the phone down on her, throwing it across the room and standing up quickly, panting and looking all around him. He was feeling much more hungry now than he had earlier, which wasn’t much of a surprise to him. Darn it, I really don’t feel like going out anymore tonight…but duty calls. He threw his jacket on and ran out the door, walking down his long driveway and entering the street. Though there wasn’t many out this time of night, it still wasn’t that bad since no one would notice if homeless people went missing. He entered an alley, seeing a man looking about the age of 30 sitting against wall, dirty and tired looking. Perfect he smirked, walking to the man and checking for anybody that could see. Then, upon seeing it safe, he grabbed the man and pinned him to the wall. “What the heck-” He murmured, gasping as Troy attached himself to the man’s neck, sinking his fangs deep into his throat and allowing a heavy flow of the man’s blood to pass through his lips. Anna slowly opened her eyes, yawning and petting Ben, who was curled up on her stomach, still sound asleep. She carefully slid him off of her so she could get up, standing and putting her slippers on. Maybe I should head to Carter’s…see what’s up with him…she thought, sighing and rubbing the back of her neck. But then again, I really don’t want to see him…She went to her kitchen and began making some coffee, pulling on her robe and tying the small rope in the middle. Anna assumed she would run into Carter at some point during the day, so it would be pointless to drag herself to his mansion of a house. She could simply stay out all day around his general area, waiting to see him, then try and sort out what happened with him yesterday, and why he seemed to be acting the complete opposite of his usual self. Troy quickly awoke to the sound of his alarm clock. He shoved it off the table, making it stop as he slowly sat up, running his fingers through his hair before climbing out of bed and standing. He immediately began thinking of the events from the previous night. Why would she say she saw me…I came home, fell asleep, then called her…Maybe she’s covering for breaking and entering…The tramp. Troy walked down to his living room, opening the blinds next to Katie’s cage, peering in at the sleeping snake. He slowly filled her food dish before walking to his kitchen, starting to brew some cappuccino. “Darn….work today,” he mumbled, running back up to his bedroom and looking through his dresser, pulling out a gray suit and black tie, quickly pulling on the clothes. He picked up a pair of shoes right as the phone rang. “Oh come on…its freaking 7 am,” he muttered, answering it. “Troy Carter speaking,” he said. It was obvious he was tired from his tone of voice. “Ah Carter…I was hoping you’d be home,” Anna said softly. “Anna…I was just thinking about you.” “Mm. I bet…listen, I just called to see if you were okay.” “Oh yeah…having my house broken into makes me feel fabulous,” he said sarcastically. “Darn it, I did not break into you’re house!” “Well then who did?” he demanded. “You’re involved with a lot of creatures, maybe it was one of them.” “Doubt it…but I’ll check.” “Okay…oh, by the way, I need to meet up with you sometime today.” “After work, gotta go.” “Wait-” Troy had already hung up and was slipping his shoes on.
