How to buy an item without icon/image?

This might seem to be somewhat of a newbie-question. But how does one buy or handle items that don't have an icon/image attatched to it? I want to buy a "Mystery Island Heads Stamp" and put it in my album, but I really don't get how to do it. But I expect other neopians to be smarter than me here :P

Hey there,

 

When you use the search wizard, it gives you something like this:

 

sonicson1969 Mystery Island Heads Stamp 1 4,300 NP

sylvieken Mystery Island Heads Stamp 3 4,300 NP

fiireftr Mystery Island Heads Stamp 1 4,400 NP

 

Click on the name, eg sonicson1969, and it will take you to their shop page and you can click on the image of the stamp there.

 

It's that simple :)

Actually, I think that might be a glitch. I've had that same problem, where some items didn't have an icon, so I couldn't click on it, and that resulted in me not being able to buy it. And if you have an item that's like that in your inventory, it can't be used.

 

I'd recommend sending a bug report to TNT, unless Femme_Diva's solution helps.

I've had that problem before. It was Ad-blocker that caused it. Check your blocked items if it ever occurs again.

I remember having that problem, and at that time I didn't have an Ad-blocker.

 

I sent a bug report and TNT fixed it after a couple of days.

 

Idk though, you should still check your Ad-blocker, just in case.

In theory an ad blocker shouldn't be able to cause this problem unless you specifically instructed it to block the image... that said, disabling any ad blockers just to see if they're having any effect wouldn't hurt. :yes:

 

I think it's probably a server-specific glitch, because I can see the icons all right.

This is weird! I turned Adblocker off, and now I can see the image, even though I most certainly never blocked it before! Ah, well. Now I can get the stamp, at least :evo:

Remember, you can remove URLs and sites off filters and blocks. So, if the image that was blocked was "http://image.neopets.com/028/sword_of_skardsen.gif", chances are that every other picture that's under "http://image.neopets.com/028/" is blocked as well, since if it was just "http://image.neopets.com/", then you'd surely see barely anything of the site. o_O

Yeah I have "RIP" the fire fox add on that lets you remove just about anything from a sight, and I am constantly blocking things that are annoying, and then later I'll go to my shop and be like, "What happened to all my stuff?" Neopets uses a lot of repeat headers on seemingly unrelated things. So I recommend using any blocking software very sparingly.

Alternatively, you could try the Adblocking guides provided by TDN. ;) They've been tested to make sure they *probably* won't interfere with anything other than the ads themselves.
