Stealing in Battledome Question

I haven't gotten into Stealer Equipment but this question has been haunting me last night (had a dream the Ghost Lupe stole my equipment before I managed to deal the final blow and I lost everything).

 

Does the equipment you steal or have stolen from you in the Battledome become permanent or just stay until the battle ends?

The items you steal will return to the rightful owner after the battle ends.

 

I think there might be a item which keeps the item you steal

Ok, thank you very much for that information. It made me feel better to know that I won't lose the equipment permanently and almost pointless to buy seeing how my pets won't have any use for them any time soon.
