Well, the way I see it, there is no reason to stockpile resources. You say "giving up resources" like you're losing something, when really the resources are just currency for the main goal: XP. If you want to gain XP as quickly as possible, then it's better to build stuff. Building things (nests, storage, etc.) gives you XP, while buying food doesn't.

 

Sure, food can provide some XP by attracting invaders, but that's only useful if you can actively collect the gems as soon as they drop. Since I doubt you'd want to watch your Habitarium 24/7, a large percentage of your gems will probably expire before you can collect them anyway.

Going to echo Aquamentis here: If you're only playing 1P, then freezers aren't nearly as useful as they were in the old BD. With Lens Flare and Warlock's Rage, you really don't need an item freezer for most battles. Honestly Gbomb sounds like the better bet.

 

With that all said, I'm not a particularly skilled BDer. I just blow all my money on training. :P

LOL I only just got the 12 year old shield last month. I was feeling pleased that I'd finally gotten the oldest shield but guess that didn't last haha. All the same, I'm glad that I have such nice shields to look forward to! Can't wait for the 15 1/2 year one, so adorable. :3

Didn't get the avatar, but then I only went 60+ floors. Might have missed a day or two on the Magic Melody and/or the eating contest, but I can't recall. Ah well, anyway what I really wanted was a trophy, and looks like that wasn't handed out to anybody. :P

Finally finished it! I got too lazy to go for prizes (especially since so many of them are basically worthless), so maybe that's why I finished at level 64 haha. I applaud the stamina of everyone else who went well into the 100s, wow!!! I got so tired by the 40s that after that point I would just leave each floor half done.

Just started a few minutes ago, but I definitely cracked a smile at the Curse of Barrel Roll.

Haha, I only just noticed this today! Guess this feature has already been out for about 2 weeks and I just didn't notice until now. :P

 

But yeah I like this feature, it's kind of fun to see when I created my pets. And I imagine that people with adopted pets can have a fun insight into when their pets were created. :)

I'm a big fan of the Tyrannian Peophin, which is why I currently own one. Most Peophins don't really appeal to me, but I just love how Tyrannian ones look. :)

 

I also like the Biscuit and Snow colors, although I don't think of these colors as "low-value" in the same way that I consider pink, orange, brown, or white low-value. Sure, Tyrannian, Biscuit, and Snow paint brushes are cheap now, but they used to be quite expensive before KeyQuest. So it's hard to say if I actually like any low-value colors at all, or if I just like discounted expensive colors. :P

Oh wow, I never even thought about cancelling courses to avoid the expensive codestones! So obvious, and yet it never crossed my mind. I'm about to hit 250 in a few days (currently at 248), so I'm glad I read this forum post before I got there. :)

Like karmacow said, any trophy is welcome. But the one I'd really want at the moment would have to be a trophy for Shenkuu Warrior I. I've been trying for it for what feels like an eternity, but my game always slows down around the 5,000 mark, making an already difficult game basically impossible. Still, at least the gold scores are a lot lower than they used to be, so it feels attainable. Nowadays gold is regularly in the 20,000 range, but I remember ~back in the day~ when gold scores regularly climbed into the 100k mark.

I've been trying to ignore the brackets and just focus on my personal contributions, but seriously! I'm playing for KI and we got Tyrannia every single bracket? Come on. At least mix it up a little. We're tied with Roo Island in points anyway, so it wouldn't even break the bracket rules to allow us to compete against Altador at least once.
