  1. How is that inaccurate? I said they were around the same time. Please read what I said first. I also know how to pronounce it.

WHOA. Chill. I wasn't attacking you. You've got it all wrong to react like that. Elbandito999 made the same mistake. I think it's because I was really tired last night and the font against the white background made my eyes read the words wrong. Also, I was writing that for everyone who didn't know how to pronounce it who might have been reading this, whether you knew or not, not insulting your intelligence, because actually too few people know how to pronounce Gaelic or Gaelic originated words.

I think that a lot of people that practice Hinduism would not appreciate your attempt at being the devil's advocate. Hinduism IS a religion, not a lifestyle. I am a vegetarian- for me, this is a part of my lifestyle. It is a choice that is not based on religious beliefs or dogma. The beliefs held by Hindus are based on dogma- therefore it is a religion.

I don't really get what point you were trying to make anyway?

Okay, I said that wrong. I admit that mistake, but Hinduism IS a lifestyle, not JUST a religion. It is intertwined within their culture.

The point I was trying to make is that OP meant it as a complement in a way, because I personally believe the design would be beautiful, as well as, probably OP too.

The obvious difference here is that Hinduism is a religion still practised by millions of people, whereas the ancient Egyptian religion doesn't have any followers nowadays at all, as far as I'm aware...

Also, I was going to make the remark that they had Egyptian god themed characters, and yes, people actually do follow the beliefs held and practiced by the Egyptians today, albeit crude and many can almost be compared to many modern pagans and even neo-nazis (though they are extremists) in that they are only following because of misguided appeal and don't actually understand what these gods really represent. Only really devout Egyptology would truly understand these beliefs.

  2. As an artist, I see tattoos and an art form. Tattooing and Scarification date back to a very old cultural status of body modification that has always, and will always be beautiful to the wearer.

I've done many tattoos as a hobby, and I'm slowly learning the proper way to do scarification tattoos correctly, but I personally have no tattoos or scarification tattoos.

So many people ask me why and a lot of my friends as if they can even tattoo me, each almost competing to be the first.

I just smile and tell them that I'm saving my skin for the perfect tattoo that represents me. :D

A very good documentary to watch is called Modify. It's PG13, because of a lot of revealing skin, and a bit of blood from scarification, tattoos, and piercings, but I don't remember any actual nudity or anyone cursing. There is also a segment about suspension, because it is considered as a form a body modification, which can be a little bit unsettling to some people. Though the whole thing ranges from something as extreme as full body tattoos and suspension all the way to the other end of the spectrum, muscle building, face lifts, and hissi implants (which are all totally normal in our society but still body modification).

Body modification is a very passionate subject for me. <3

  3. You found him in the same spot Rotsuoy? You aren't one of those lucky people who got the game graveyard avvie right away are you?

Nope, I don't have that one. In fact, I have very few avvies. I've only been lucky enough to have done one random Faerie quest (did it today, actually), and I've played for almost, what, four years now? Hehe. That's how poor my luck is. :P

Also, I'm still not past the lever's part of the plot and I've been doing the tab method for two days now. :/

  4. One answer: Dropbox

Nothing is resized, and you can download their file manager so you can instantly upload images by dragging and dropping stuff into the dropbox folder on your computer.

Use my referal and both me and you can get an extra 500 MB of space: http://db.tt/h6FKS5Vo

I use it all the time for my digital art commissions. This way I can send the high resolution image to my customer without them having to wait forever to download a file attached to an email (that, and I tell all my customers to never download files attached to emails- it's unsafe).

  5. UGH, I took some college programing courses but I forget everything all the time, even after I reteach myself. :P

I know what it is but can't explain it or try to figure out exactly why it's doing it.

All I have to tell you guys is that it's something about how the code is being executed, nothing to do with the code itself (though I don't think that's the proper way to explain it either). Just keep refreshing the page and it should work. Just keep reporting this on the neopets forums and hopefully TNT will relize what's going on and fix it.

I wish I could be more helpful, but I just think with the wrong part of my brain to make programming stick. :C

  6. Anything about culture can become just as heated as religion. Just look at how a discussion about holidays turned out:

Halloween is also at the same time as the Celtic festival of Samhain, a harvest festival. It was the final harvest of the year and right before winter. In modern practices, pagans have begun to incorporate recognition of the death part of the cycle of life and death.

This is highly inaccurate, as Samhain (pronounced saw-win) has little to do with All Saints Day, which is what All Hallows Eve, or Halloween, really is. I personally take offense to that remark.

    Elbandito999 said it great here:

Um... I'm afraid that's not remotely right! From Wikipedia:

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of "All Hallows' Evening"), also known as All Hallows' Eve,is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the WesternChristian feast of All Hallows (or All Saints).

IN REALITY however, halloween is a consumer holiday. People buy costumes and candy and party. There is nothing sacred about it! Day of the Dead AND Samhain are both sacred to those who observe the holidays. Just because they occur on the same day doesn't mean that they have anything to do with one another.

Also another remark I take offense to, as a lot of my family and friends make very few purchases on Halloween, making all of their treats and costumes at home, by hand, because it fills them with more spirit, besides the fact that we are all not very well off.

We've actually taken accustom to calling Spirit's Day, as we combine many of the customs of All Hallows Eve and Samhain.

Okay, it might not be religious to a lot of people nowadays, but it's origins definitely were.

I actually know a practicing Chatholic who does celebrate a sort of All Saint's Day. What it's all about I don't really know, I just know she and her family get together and eat and spend time together.

But that's kind of irrelevant to this discussion. Rebecca hit the nail on the head here. Would a practising Hindu want a Sacred Kau on Neopets? I very much doubt it - in fact they'd most probably find that idea very offensive. I would, if someone suggested there should be a Jesus Babaa (because he's the Lamb of God...)

It's just because most people don't know enough about other religions to not offend someone. Not saying OP meant to offend anyone or that OP is ignorant (though I kind of am modestly and indirectly, hopefully).

However, let me turn this around, (kind of playing the devil's advocate to spur the conversation) and allow you guys to think about this a different way. Hinduism isn't a religion. It's a lifestyle. Therefor, decorating a Kau in a symbolic manor as to represent Hinduism as a cultural expression would be quite an interesting and remarkable thing to see. I honestly believe a lot of the symbolism and design would be taken from the sacred cow, however.

  7. It's the eyes. All of the snow critters have grey or coal eyes, and people find that unattractive.

As far as what 'I' personally prefer, it depends on the neopet. Hehe. I love the snow Boris for instance with their carrot claws, and snow yurbles are so ADORALE with their leafy manes, but I think christmas cybunny is cuter than snow. Those green feet are just cute for some reason. :P

Also, looking over the pets I can see the real difference: may of the the christmas pets look like reindeer, christmas pteri looks like a robin, and christmas zafara looks like an angel.

I LOVE chrismtas Ogrin and Kau. They are probably my favorites. Hehe.

  8. Don't you know, every day in the mayan baktun is represented by a different animal (many of wich are mythological), so the calander ends because they ran out of animals. :P

Seriously though, the guy that had been spouting about how the world was going to end on the 21st of december is the same guy that started all that Annuniki crap. It's all bogus hooplah. Archeologists have been disproving his nonsense for years now.

There is however one thing a few people mentioned. . . a lot of folks DO belive the world is going to end on the 21st. . . which makes me terrified of the human race and how they might react. Mass suicides, riots, raids even. . . there's no telling how everyone is going to flip out. That's what I'M afraid of anyways. Lord knows what happened with the Y2K freaks. Imagine that about 200x worse.

  9. I've been doing this method for nearly three hours, I've cleared my cash twice during that time, and I've been going back and forth across the tabs AND going at them randomly, changing it up every few minutes. WHY has it worked yet? I have all 8 tabs open, I'm using Firefox, and I'm so far past the stage of being frustrated that my head feels numb and my eyes are buldging. Make the maddness stop! I want to make it past this stage so badly! :C

[EDIT] A couple of hours later, and I'm STILL refreshing these stupid tabs. Something is serious wrong here. . .

[EDIT2] Day two of trying this, I've been at it for a couple of hours now. . .

  10. I honestly had no problems with this part. I litterally went from the very edge of the page and slid my mouse over until it recognized the hyperlink (cursor became a hand), and clicked on every one until I found him, hitting the back button at the top of the browser when he wasn't there. Don't forget to search BOTH floors though. I didn't find him on the first floor. To find him the second time, I went to the same window and there he was.

I'm sorry you guys are having trouble with him! :C

  11. I'm still stuck on this part. I've followed so many guides and just can't get it >.<

You have to stay on the page until you've tended to the pet ten times, then once more to get the skeith to appear. When you first start by going to the sick petpet's page, don't click 'Check up', just do whatever you have to that corresponds with the petpet's expression (tongue lulled out = feed, green faced = medicine, head down = wait, paw up = bandage).

TRUST me, very few people get it on their first try.

  12. Okay, so I'm using Firefox, now, mind you, I have a very swift internet connection, so I have no idea if this will happen if you have a slower internet speed. . .

. . .well, on Firefox, I had a few tabs open, plot tips, my inventory (dunno why), something else, and well, the page of the sick petpet.

I tried a few different methods and I noticed that the one where you wait five seconds after the time, then five more, and so on (here: http://www.tdnforums.com/index.php?/topic/11968-i-found-the-secret-to-healing-the-vaeolus-petpet/ ) actually worked, BUT, each time, after I was about the click it, the name of the tab would flash momentarily as if refreshing.

Could this be a key to help know when to check in on the petpet? Tell me if it works for you and if you see it! I really wanna know!~<3

Here's my log I kept as I healed him, but your answers will be different.

    12:07:05 I Bandaged him

12:08:12 I checked in and gave him Medicine

12:09:18 I checked in and Bandaged him (this is the first time I noticed the flash)

12:10:24 Saw the flash, checked in, and gave him Medicine

12:11:28 Waited for the flash, checked in, and Waited

12:12:33 Waited for the flash, checked in, and Bandaged him

12:13:13 Waited for the flash, checked in, and Waited

12:14:20 Waited for the flash, checked in, and Fed him

12:15:25 Waited for the flash, checked in, and Waited

12:16:33 Waited for the flash, checked in, Waited

12:17:35 This is when I checked in, dismayed because I thought I might have messed up, but saw the skeith!
