LOL this. She's obviously just out for some free money. I have a 10 year old whose computer/ipod usage is closely monitored and moderated and I just can't understand why parents don't do that then try to blame others when there are poor outcomes for the kids.

What sort of items are they? And how long have you had them (ie a year, 5 years etc). The answer really depends on the item and how long it has been around.

I'm pretty bad at KQ too but I go through waves where I can sit and play quite a few games and manage to win a few in the end. Then I get bored and don't want to play it for a few weeks because I pretty much have to play 30-40 games to win 10 lol.

 

I'm also bad at RSing. I've been reading a few guides lately and trying to get better at it, and refreshing while watching TV or something so I don't get too bored. I've also started making lists for each shop so I can recognise what the better profit items are and don't waste np. I still make mistakes and buy HTS items or ones that lose me np, but I don't know of any better way than practicing LOL. I do get bored quickly though and I don't understand how some people can do it all day every day.

Oh that is some bad luck! Like RoboHissi says, next time fill your inventory with junk to reduce the chances of that happening. I remember years ago a friend borrowing Tiki Armour for the Pant Devil avatar, and not putting anything else in her inventory and.... well you can guess where that ended :laughingsmiley:

 

I still remember the stress of borrowing MSPP too :eh: :ohno: :sad02: x_x :woot: I didn't have the collat ('only' 600k back then, but to me that was more than I'd ever save) so a fellow guild member fronted it for me, and I just about passed out from the fear of losing it while I got the avi LOL. It was fine though.

 

The worst that I can remember happening was early on in my membership, when I scored a Nerkmid in a random event, which was worth something like 80k so I put it in my shop. For 8k.

 

Oh! I also lost the first Halloween Lupe that was loaned to me for the avi. The guy who owned it was fine about it though and just made another one.

I did it in bursts; saved some, spent some etc so it took a while. I think it took me about a year to save up the first 5mil, but before that I had bought a meowclops for 375k and sold that for 9m and made another few mil. Then I took a break from neo, and when I returned a few months ago I had 16.5. I spent 1m on the Richer book and another 500k on the rich book + WoE and then set to saving up for the last 5, which I did really quickly. Oh, I also bought 4 Governor Mansion Stamps but sold 1 of them back.

 

I've been switching between KeyQuest, habi and RSing since I came back in late July/early Aug.

I spent 100k on it last night on the WoE. Won 50k LOL.

 

I'm making a list which I'll then cull and prioritise. It's taken so long to save though that I feel reluctant to spend any :laughingsmiley:

Depends what you're into. When I hit 20m, I finally invested in the 10m hidden tower avvie and splurged on a couple things for my gallery. If you collect avvies, put it towards avvies. If you'd rather have a dreamie, paint a pet. It all depends on your individual goals :) Let us know when you decide!

I don't have any dream pets really; I am fickle that way LOL.

 

I have 271 avatars and would love to get over the 300, but a lot of the missing ones are games. I haven't bought the 10m book yet so that's a possibility. Other than the random/chance ones, the only item/pet avatars I don't have are BGC and SuAP, which are still out of my range :laughingsmiley:

 

I like the idea of helping others/newbies with quests and goals too. How would I go about that? Post here maybe?

 

I'm looking forward to a splurge after so much frugality :D

So, this morning I woke up, banked my neopoints from habi, and realised I'd fiiiiinally made it over my savings goal of 20m :D

 

but, here's the thing. I didn't have anything in mind to spend it on, I just wanted to hit that number :guiltysmiley: so, what would you do with it?

 

Here are a couple of things I'm considering:

• Spend a few million upgrading my shop size from 35 to 150 or so
  
• Earmark some of it to go towards avatars - WoE, Edna, Wishing Well?
  
• Paint one or more pets

Yeah that's it really. So what would you do if it was yours to spend? I really need to get some goals or something.

I made two on my side account (one named BreathlessMahoney and one LordFlashheart, random I know LOL). I was planning on getting a second lab map for that account and am hoping for an MSP, but realise that could be a foolish pipe dream :laughingsmiley:

I have an account like this, only it's around 6 years old, and I can't remember the last time I accessed it. The email address I used is also long gone. I did email TNT and request access, but I couldn't give them enough information about the account apparently. I don't think there is anything worth anything in there (was set up initially as a guild account) but I was hoping to use it to shuffle some pets around.

 

If the account does still exist, contact them and ask. Tell them anything you can remember about the account. and see what happens. Failing that, try a few likely passwords every day and see if you can't get in?

I think you do need to order 4 items to maximise your chances of getting the avatar. There's very little chance of getting it with just one food item.

I've noticed more lag this weekend and periods when it hasn't been creating gems and I have had to refresh. I too have been wondering if it is timing out after a period, because all this afternoon I've been checking on it periodically and collecting gems etc, and it hasn't lagged once. But it did last night/this morning when I hadn't touched it for hours.

I'm guesstimating around 150k per day? I kept track of it the first 24 hours by not banking it, then got bored doing that so I'm assuming it's around the same. I've made about 1m NP the last 6 days, and think I sold around 100k or so out of my shop in that time, so that adds up.

 

I leave it open when I can, which is most of the time. My display goes to sleep after 3 hours during the day, and if I remember I turn energy saver off when I go to bed so it keeps running. My p3s harvest only wood, stone and mud, and when they fill up the storage I build nests, upgrade them to l3, then discard them. Other than that, I check on them every 8 hours or so and refresh them.

 

I just keep them in a minimised separate window so they are out of the way, and it doesn't seem to lag the computer at all. At least once a day I refresh that window to reload it, or sometimes more often if I've checked on it and the xp isn't building up.

 

Oh - and I also have 6 nesters, which I made originally to hoard eggs in case I take a break from it, so now I harvest those eggs. I rarely harvest more than 3 lots a day though so it doesn't add up to much.

 

It's such a relief when you finally hit 50, isn't it? I was way over excited when mine did, considering it's just a game :P

Nawwww he's so cute! That is really nice of them to do that; I thought their standard line was no missing items will be replaced, but it's nice to know they do make exceptions for genuine glitches.

There would be a bit of work, but most of the AC work would have happened before AC, and the plot could have been worked on during the AC.

 

Also they probably have teams of staff for different projects (I could be wrong here, but assuming they would have a top of 2-3 staff for each facet of a project, not the entire staff working on every plot/event etc).

 

So it is possible something is coming. It's also possible it's like that thing on Kreludor, put there for a plot and never eventuating.

Was it for being frozen?

 

I'm not sure how long you'd have to wait for that, but to give you an idea of regular response time, I got an email from them yesterday after 3 weeks, requesting access to a lost account.

 

It might also depend on what they are replying to, ie did you ask them why the account was frozen (if you've no idea what you did wrong), or send an explanation for what they thought was a reason to freeze etc. If it's something they need to look into before replying, you could be waiting weeks.

I really, really , really hope that it will be related to a new plot.

 

Having not played for 18 months and missing lots of site events, I'm totally in the mood for one. With the caveat that it will be a fun one like the Lost Desert plot, and not lame like the easter one where I completed it religiously every day, only to miss out on an avatar because I couldn't win a game of volleyball <_<

I have like four game avatars, LOL. The only one I got easily was Typing Terror because I'm a fast typist.

They probably LOLed initially because you were asking why they bid on your trade, when the answer was kinda obvious (ie you would accidentally accept or decide to sell it because of a good offer). Then when you started getting angry they were just baiting you.

 

I don't see anything in that transaction or conversation worth reporting TBH. I hope you weren't reported, but at worst you'd probably only get a warning, unless you are a repeat offender.

 

In future, just block them if they annoy you.

I'm saving up then I'm going to hit up edna, WoE, coconut shy etc until I get them all.

I'm actually not a big fan of krawks so I would sell it. I wouldn't take bottom dollar though.

 

Draik - I'd probably sit on it for a while and think about it. I'm not a huge fan of them either, but like some of the painted ones slightly more than krawks.

I'm not sure whether it's deliberately harder than the others, but the rainbow one took me days to find. Soooo frustrating isn't it.
