  1. Sad that this happened to you. Unfortunately, I've never heard of a pet being un-deleted before, I don't even know if it's possible, and I'm afraid I very much doubt you'll get your RW back. Even at that, I wouldn't expect to hear back from TNT for several weeks at least.

You would have thought, with a UC, if they were going to delete it they would have a long time ago. Maybe someone reported it?

  2. The reviewing process isn't based on what scores are possible (well, within reason obviously, but as far as I know TNT are pretty good at freezing the impossible scorers) but which scores are the rarest. Also speed, as Xepha mentioned. So yes, it's entirely possible to score (using your example) 60 in Snowbeast Snackrifice in less than a minute, but it isn't that common, which ups the chances that you might be doing something sneaky to achieve that score. So they investigate to check. It's annoying to have to wait though

  3. I feel like I have to defend the cookies, just a little bit. I don't think it's a good idea to sell them, but I understand why they have. Disclaimer: I haven't bought any of these cookies and I don't plan to. I'm terrible at games and the only one I play with anything approaching regularity is habitarium.

Firstly, in economic terms, releasing more NP into the economy is actually a good thing. Last night on the boards I compared it to a stimulus package for Neopia, and I'm sticking with that metaphor. The fact is, inflation in Neopia is rampant. The baseline price for say, a newly-released paintbrush, is at least 20 million if not more. Most decent items will cost you upwards of one million NP. Not that many people have that kind of buying power. TNT can't change what people try to sell their items for, but what they can do is release more NP so that the base level of wealth in the system goes up. That's the theory anyway. IMO, in reality Neo is too much of a hoarding-based system for that to work properly, but the economics of it is sound.

Secondly, yes you can get frozen for buying illegit NP. But what that tells TNT is that there is a market for people who want to try and buy it, and if they offer a way of doing that, they'll have to freeze fewer people for going off-site to do it (thereby losing fewer players, increasing their ad revenue and NC purchases), and they'll make more money. I am fairly sure (although I may have to double-check) that the Neopets arm of Viacom runs at a fairly substantial loss, they have to make all the money they can.

  4. This...sound pretty weird and bad. And I say that as someone who buys NC fairly regularly. I'm fine with my decision to buy it, but it shouldn't be forced on anyone.

That said, it seems to me like the reason for doing something like this - essentially allowing users to buy NP - would be to undermine the illegit sellers of NP. There are always going to be people willing to pay for NP, so why shouldn't TNT provide a way to allow them to do that in a legal, traceable way? The players get what they want and don't get frozen; the corporate overlords get extra money in their pockets. Everybody wins. I'm not saying I agree (I don't) but I see what they're trying to do, although it clearly lacks something in the execution.

  5. I think (and I may be wrong) that the determining factor in who wins the daily matches is the total number of goals scored. So if you have a high GPG, then you're contributing more to the team than someone who plays the same number of games but scores fewer goals.

This is my understanding of it, not sure if it's totally right though.

  6. Like the orange, it's cute! Plushie is a bit weird though, eyes are kind of small and the color scheme is very busy - the red and green clash and the yellow doesn't help much.

I want the top hat something bad, though. It won't even fit into either of my Lutaris' customisations, but I still want it.

  7. I'm 19, and I'm still around! You're definitely nowhere near the only one - the site has people from pretty much every age group, from little kids up to their grandparents. I think teens are probably the most-represented group, but they're by no means the only group.

  8. That's... a little weird, but it happens. I had some problems with that a while ago, so I just turned off NF requests - that way, if I get talking to someone, I just request to be their friend. If you're someone who does things like friend and unfriend people regularly (like on the habi boards) then it's not ideal, but otherwise it works just fine.

  9. Honestly, I think if you're going to be a reseller then patience and good manners are something you probably have to have. There are plenty of people on the TP who, when they say they want X amount for an item, mean it. A direct lowball offer, without a mail, is probably going to annoy the seller and in more than a few cases will get you a direct block from that person. I would always send a neomail saying, 'Hey, I saw you're selling X and I'm interested; are you willing to haggle?' Do you have any OTBs or a lowest price you'd be willing to go to?' If they say no, or you don't get a reply (happens more often than not) shake it off and move on.

I am sorry you've had a bad experience though - there can be some very rude people around. I tend not to go near the TP unless I have to. I would say, though, if you're considering going to the Trade boards, to be very careful, as it has a much higher proportion than usual of shady users looking to con others than some of the other boards. Be particularly careful of so-called 'shell' accounts - the ones with no avatars, no games played, no shop, badly named basic pets, and yet somehow in possession of seemingly unlimited funds and rare items.

  10. Yep, if you forget that rule it can be really annoying! But you'll remember for next time now. :)

Also, as a by-the-by, now that you've created the pet and painted it, the other trader is not allowed to back out. You've invested NP, if they back out it counts as scamming. Can't remember the exact editorial where this is stated, but this sort of thing comes up on the PC all the time. This is why, once you create a pet for a custom, you should always, always wait until the seven days are up, make sure your offer is still firm, and then paint. Saves the hassle.
