  1. Since you have a Kacheek already, be on the lookout for a Kacheek Life Potion. If you are below 33% HP, it heals to 33%, and if you are above 33%, it will heal to 100%. It is one good reason to have a Kacheek. Also, work on getting your stats to 125 str / 125 def as soon as you can, as that will give you the next boost level and not cost much.

For some base constants, a couple of Ylanas Blaster are pretty cheap. They are like 900k - 1.0m now. I paid a bit more at the beginning of the plot, but I had one last year (and sold it cause I was not very smart) for just under 800k.

For shields, there are some nice ones that are cheap...Leaf Shield...and a few others (as you are training defense, at least some small shields are good to have around)

For healing....the Kacheek Life Potion will grow with you...you just have to heal before you get below 33% (not easy, I'd guess, but with practice, I think it gets easier)

For freezing (if you care) a Snowglobe Staff is pretty cheap and at least in 1p isn't too bad for it's freezing percentage (something like 1/5)

For stealing (if you care) a Purple Sticky Hand is nice for very cheap...it steals like half the time (I managed to get one for 200NP...go figure)

Now, you still have an awful lot of NP left from your budget. For the rest of them, I'm not gonna be much help. I got a Ghostkerbomb with mine...and that probably was overkill for a 125str pet. A Kelpbeards Trident is nice, but I'm not sure the bang for the NP is worth it. Other 13 icon options (Bow of Destiny / Wand of Reality) are cheaper, but the blasters are 12.6 icons and half the price of the others.

Unfortunately, after 5m or so for the battledome, the next step just requires several 7-11m purchases in a row, and the order isn't easy to determine...depends on your opponents.

The most important thing is probably training. Every time you train to a new boost, your existing weapons become more powerful. Every HP you add makes your pet stronger, and as a Kacheek, makes your Kacheek Life Potion stronger too. As an example, a cheap weapon that does 6 icons will do 18 points at the 125 boost (3x) and 90 points at the 700 boost (15x). While training isn't as fulfilling as a nice weapon, it will make everything you buy that much more effective.

  2. For the last plot, I had saved around 10m NP, and decided on a couple of y-blasters, snowglobe staff, greater healing scroll, purple sticky hand, and tossed the rest into a ghostkerbomb (hee hee).

My BD pet, Zolenz was already at the 125 boosts, and I trained as fast as I could to 158 HP (the highest I dare go and not push past 3 codestone training)

So, what was my experience? Well, I think a Kelpbeards Trident is probably better than a Ghostkerbomb. The bomb is da bomb so to speak, and I dearly love it, but unless you manage to get a freeze...or need to toss all you can at them at the end to try for a tie (or win) while berserking, its not as effective as you'd think.

The multi use of the KBT makes it nicer...you can just keep using it in 1P...and try to bring em down with firepower.

That said, I picked up a couple Prickly Potions after about halfway through. Those little guys are awesome. My little 158 HP pet could take on 500+ HP opponents and not lose too much.

So...in summary...look around for the best weapons for the task at hand. A single weapon taking more than half your NP is seemingly overkill...but I know exactly how you feel...you want something really good. I know I did. But unfortunately the other posters were right...training is the way to get there. A single weapon is very nice...I love my Ghostkerbomb and will be keeping it a long time. But I realize now I just need to knuckle down and get Zolenz to the 200 boost asap. It will take until like Feb 2011 if I go as fast as I can, and probably cost a ton of NP. But once I get there, that g-bomb will be 50% more effective.
