  1. About the ad thing... I don't think we can seriously blame ads and such on childhood obesity. I think it all has to do with parenting. Ads don't make kids fat, the food we allow them to eat does. I'm sure ads and such don't help the matter because, for example, kids may see something on a television commercial that they want to eat or a being persuaded by the ad to eat. That is when a parent should step in and explain to the child why that particular food (or whatever it may be) isn't a healthy choice and offer suggestions to the child that is a healthy choice.

    That's my opinion, anyway.

Oh, and I just can't seem to beat that darn Moach. <_<

  2. from the code I got from viewing the source, this is what I came up with, hopefully it will work.

    Whoa, I think it works!

I added two non-breaking spaces between avatars and goals and it seems to work fine in both browsers. :D

    Thanks Big Cheese!

Also, I slimmed down my code a bit by taking out the list tags and a couple of other unnecessary things I found. Thanks for your help and suggestions, webpixie.

That's odd how in the code posted above it shows that I have all these formatting tags on my tables.

I didn't put that there. :eh:

  3. actully you seem to be takeing a more traditional approch as if its an actul webpage, where for the most part the rest of us just use the minimal of whats needed to make it look right.. it list tags for example i would only use if i wanted bullets, otherwise i would just use br and force the next one to the next line

but it would be a pain to go back and change all of that, i would try simply starting a new div layour at the begining of goals that way that layer is forced to start lower.. this would be more of a bandaid solution then finding out why it wont work of course but it will look right in the mean time..

Yeah, when I try to work around pre-existing code, I get easily frustrated and confused. I'm much more comfortable with making a page from scratch, where I have control over all aspects of the page. I'm glad you brought up the point of using as little code as possible, because I noticed that I have quite a lot of code there and I quickly ran out of available characters, so I couldn't add anything up at the top like a little 'about me' section like I had originally planned. Aside from your suggestion about the list tags, do you know of anything else I could do to minimize my code? I really appreciate you helping me out, and I'm going to give the div idea you mentioned a try. :)

  4. Hi, all. I just finished my new userlookup design and everything looks and seems to be working just fine... in Firefox. However, there is a slight problem when I view it with IE. The contents on the right seems to jumble together in one particular section. To see for yourself, just go to my lookup while using Firefox, then try it again with IE.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

If you need to take a look at the internals, feel free to view page source. :)

  5. Yes indeedy. Along with every other petpet avatar... requiring it's of the required age. If it isn't, you can easily wait for it to be. It's just like any other petpet. :)

Yayness! Now all I have to do is wait for that trusty lab ray to transform my petpet into a Meowclops. :)

  6. Oh, also those random events someone mentioned aren't throughout the site - they are only in neomail and then it says that you have to use neomail for them to happen.

I read that the random events are based on how much you use the main portal page, but you get notification through neomail.

And I agree that the super shop wiz is the best feature of premium.

  7. I have a question.Can i register for 15-days free trial without a credit card number?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that you have to enter your credit card info. even if you are planning on canceling when the trial period ends. Of course, if you cancel before the trial period expires, your card won't be charged.

  8. I'm a little unclear about how trophies and high-scores work. Is it only possible to get a trophy at the first of the month when the high-score tables are reset (assuming you have a high score) or can you get a trophy any time, but only have your name listed on the high-score tables at the beginning of the month when they're reset?

I hope my question makes sense. :worried:

  9. Oh yeah, and I left out one of the best features, The Super Shop Wiz. The SSW searches ALL the shops and returns the lowest price to you, instead of just giving you some random prices like the regular shop wizard. I've found some really amazing deals using it. It's especially useful if you run your own shop and are into sniping and the like.

  10. What so special about premium. How come i cant find the page to sign up for it/

I don't know if you've found an answer to your question yet but here it goes anyway...

Neopets Premium is a paid, enchanced version of Neopets. Here are some of the special features you get:

    - A space faerie scratchcard every Friday. - Everytime I've gotten one I've won at least 250 NP, but I can't be 100% certain that you win something every time.

    - A customizable portal page. - It's like a starting point with lots of little modules that give you quick access to areas you frequently visit on the site. You can change the modules and colors to fit your preference.

    - More random events. - I usually get a fair amount of NP and an item that sells for around 1k or so.

    - Neomail.com email address and the Neomail addict avatar. - e.g. [email protected]

    - 1,000 NP for each month you remain a premium member.

    - Premium only cards for your Neodeck if you keep premium for a while. - I haven't gotten one of these yet, but I'm told that you cannot sell them.

    - Access to premium only boards.

    - After you become a premium member you can send invites or referrals to other people so they can sign up for premium. When you refer a certain amount of people, you get some pretty cool prizes, even paint brushes if you refer enough. Currently, I'm told that receiving a referral from an existing member is the only way you can sign up.

Well, I hope that answered your questions. In my opinion, I think that the $7.99 a month is worth it, but that's just my opinion. Of course, if you want/need a referral, feel free to neomail me or PM me or whatever you want to do, I haven't had the opportunity yet to refer anyone, so that'd be cool. :)
