Third Round's The Charm!

Hello, and welcome to The Daily Neopets' Daily Report on the Altador Cup. Once again, I'm Miko. Well folks, round 3 has swung into action and there are bound to be some mix ups and shocks this round, if we can trust the opening games. This may well our be the year of the underdogs - but I'd better start on the results before I lose you guys.

The new Alabriss Bracket started off with a bang as Brightvale and Kiko Lake clashed. The Kikos held strong in Yooyuball but they didn't shine enough in support games, which allowed Brightvale to secure their victory. Once more, Brightvale is on a roll. Lost Desert crushed Moltara into powder in the next match, even with Magma fans rallying cries. And rising stars of the cup Terror Mountain and Shenkuu outplayed each other to a halt. Expect to see more powerful plays from them.

Minitheus Bracket was thrown into a loop for a few minutes as fan favorite underdogs Faerieland struck Virtupets where it hurts. The Robots managed to create some breathing room by winning Yooyuball but with this win and the last 2 brackets, the Faeries may finally have a chance at the Cup. Mystery Island once again are dancing to the beat as they walloped Meridell in all games except Shootout Showdown. Roo Island seemed to have found a source of energy as they tied Altador in the final game of the match.

This round has the Vaeolus Bracket as the bracket to be watching. It includes five powerhouse teams - and the Haunted Woods. Speaking of them, they still can't come out of their grave as Darigan Citadel sweeped more soil onto it. Maraqua and Krawk Island clashed, with no side coming up with a decisive victory. But just tying the Pirates could be a sign that the Mermaids are back for more. Unlike Kreludor, who got bashed into moondust by Tyrannia, who are starting to look like ACX's Kikos.
