If you keep zapping though, it's very likely that your pet will change back into a species you like at some point. I've gotten Cybunnies from the lab ray quite a few times and some Maraquan/Faerie/Mutant/Fire pets! :-D Trust me, it'll change into something good soon!!! But it turned my kacheek into a kyrii (when I was really hoping for a colour change). Oh well, keep shooting it and hopefully it'll change back.
