Need Help to Understand Altador Cup Better.

Hello everyone,

Sorry about this question, but I am new to the Altador Cup event and wanted to get some more information over it. If you know any helpful sites/posts that better explain how this event works please feel free to post them. :)

One question I have is over the teams. Do I need to hurry and pick a team for the event, because there is limited space? Which team should I chose and is there a place I could chat amongst my team mates?

Also, I am not very good at games and I remember some people saying that there is ranks? I really don't want to be looked down upon on the Neoboards just because I can not play very well or a lot. :/

Will the games be the same this year from last year? I believe there is 5?

Thank you ahead of time! C: Any information is greatly appreciated!

You could check out the TDN coverage? They've got an "About" page, here's the link-

I'm like, 100% sure you won't encounter any problems with limited space on teams. So no need to rush! And I think there is a quiz you can take that lets you know which team would suit you best if you're having trouble choosing.

As far as chatting with your teammates, I think there will likely be an Altador Cup section on the NeoBoards. I don't actually visit the NeoBoards often enough to know whether or not I'm telling the truth right now. ;P

And guuuurl, no one's going to look down on you because you don't have a bunch of fancy star-player AC trophies. From what I've heard, most of the teams are really lovely and welcoming so you've got nothing to worry about.

By the way, your avatar is sooooooo cute. And making me hungry.

You will have no problems joining any team. The only benefit of joining early is in your look up it will say when you started. Some people on the boards have a problem with people that pick teams late in the game because they feel that they are riding on the success of the other players and didn't contribute as much.

The ranks are sort of poorly done. You don't even see how much you played unless someone goes to your page and then clicks on the trophy/medal for that year. If you want you can look at my lookup, names to the left. I spent forever doing it last year. I know i won't be doing that this summer. I will be casually playing.

Last year there were only 4 different games. I love TDNs coverage of the event. I used to come here every night to read their posts. They are amazing.

As far as boards go they will have a separate topic for the cup. I would say pick a team you like for me it is kreludor this time. (I choose KI last time because I couldn't choose between them)

Even though I have been on neopets a long time, last year was my first year to play in the AC so coming from a newbie ... don't worry too much about the games, if you can't get the hang of Yooyuball you will for sure be able to play some of the other games. Here are several good guides you can check out when you are ready :D and even some youtube videos you can watch to see how to play yooyuball.

Hope this helps!!

That link may well have saved my life! Chances are I'll still be awful at Yooyooball but at least I have a chance of understanding it now! Thank you!

1) You don't need to hurry to pick a team, and cannot pick one officialy before the sign ups are opened (May 26th is the date for this year, most probably).

2) You should choose a team for your own reasons. They are basically all the same, but since they compete against each others, you might have preferences for one. The team you join does not affect your personal ranking.

3) Each team has a chat group that is present on the Neoboards. Teams are mostly found at Virtupets, Other Worlds, and Tarla sections at the moment this post is written.

4) Not good at games? This is not really a problem. Usually, people on the Neoboards are there to point you with guides and to give you tips about how to improve your score. The people of TDN forums are also there to help you, as you can see in with the responses already posted here.

5) Regarding your time investment, it takes about 90min per day to reach rank 20 (the highest rank). The most you play, the better are the prizes for you at the end of the event.:)

Good luck in the Altador Cup!

Thanks Kari! I did it myself. C:

Thank you everybody for replying! I feel more confident about the Altador Cup. Which team I will choose- well I am still undecided, but I will know soon. C: I am really glad that there isn't a limit to who can join the teams- phew!!

I am confused though about the prizes. I thought all we get is a trophy if our team wins. Do we get more?
