Potion 5 - Who's dunnit

My theorem based on the qualities:

burn =(3) relative to (30s/gram)

crush =(6) relative to (60s/gram)

soak =(9) relative to (90s/gram)

dessicate =(12) (relative to 120s/gram)

ICE PLASMA (9 letters in name)

we know it requires Burn, and Crush. That is to say,

(3) + (6) =9 letters in name. If this is any clue, then:

PLATINUM MIST (12 letters in name)

Burn, and Soak, or (3) + (9) = 12 letters in name; and

PSIONIC SINGULARITY (18 letters in name)

Crush, and Dessicate, or (6) + (12) = 18 letters in mame.

I'm still trying. Hopefully this will help narrow the trials down if it's any true clue.

That's a start. Now if only we could figure out the ingredients. I'm gonna try that with random ingredients to see what I come up with.

the only problem with that theorem is that you need 10g total for the potion

So have you thought about that.

Nope. *sighs* So much for attempting to think about it. My brain hurts.

I'm not sure how that makes the theorem a problem, unless the properties are based on how much of each ingredient you use. What we're testing here is the ingredients and the processes, not how much to use. Or does that really change the outcome?

what I mean to say is: We're testing with 1g samples anyway, then we're making up the difference for 10g later, right? The whole 10g thing shouldn't matter at this stage where we're testing the processing results.

I used the same number and items used in the ice plasma

and just used the methods that he said

PLATINUM MIST (12 letters in name)

Burn, and Soak, or (3) + (9) = 12 letters in name; and

resulte invisiable compond

PSIONIC SINGULARITY (18 letters in name)

Crush, and Dessicate, or (6) + (12) = 18 letters in mame.

did not work ether

Dang.. well it was worth a shot, ey? I've just been trying the combos.

What I'm figuring is that since there's 3 possible requests for the players, the recipes are probably templated. Meaning, that if the Ice Plasma is basically 2 processes on 3 ingredients, the other two recipes would be the same. (At least I -assume- NeoPets would make it fair and equal that way.)

So, if there's 10 ingredients (plenty to go around), I would also assume that they might call for 3 totally different ingredients for each of the 3 possible recipes. (which would mean, we could cross out Nova, Sharpgrass, and Bumroot for the Platinum Mist or Psionic Singularity since they're already used in Ice Plasma). So, if we keep trying trios among the remaining ingredients, we just have to figure out which 2 processes to do to them all.

Again, all this is -assuming- that the three different recipes are equal in their methods and quantities, and that ingredients are not repeated among different recipes.

At least it's a little hope of a start.

your not the only one why not join the testers on the neopets board

Oh..d'oh.. well I guess I could/should, huh. Hm, maybe my message should have gone on the boards. I think it's too long though, maybe? Or better yet, run the ideas by you here, and if you think they're plausible, run them by the board?

Gadzooks, maybe we've been overcomplicating it!

I just tried a twist on the Ice Plasma recipe.

"The formula for the Ice Plasma is:

1g Nova Essence - Burn, Crushed

1g Bumroot - Burn, Crushed

1g Sharpgrass - Burn, Crushed

7g Sharpgrass - No Action"

I did everything the same, except instead of Burn,Crush, I did Burn,Soak.

And it still made Ice Plasma!

So I tried -just- Burning.

Still made Ice Plasma!

This means, that even though the circulated formula for Ice Plasma calls for Burn and Crush, you only really

have to burn it.

This may mean that you only have to do one process to the other recipes as well. I've been trying everything with 2 processes, which has made it take longer to test.

Just a thought.

Jeez.. I've even gone on someone's theory that the recipe has something to do with how many + and - values come out, but still nothing's working.

Maybe this is more random than we think, and TNT didn't make the recipes of equal method.

Whatever the case, allow me to say:

ARRRRGHHHHHHHH!

Thanks.

Well someone's finally got a solution for the Psi Sing posted.

Unfortunately, now that I've satsified Sophie, it won't let me experiment anymore to look for the Plat Mist. >.<

Good luck to those of you looking for the Plat!
