TBH, I usually have more trouble with the Faerie Yooyu than the Darigan. I mean sure, the Darigan can go any which-way, but I try the approach of getting within range of the goal and firing away from the net, sometimes it works, sometimes not. I typically try to use ricochet shots. With the Faerie Yooyu, if I can, I'll run up, left and down, hopefully faking out the goalie and then I send it in. USUALLY, anyway. lol I HATE how unreliable the goalie is even WITH TRYING to take manual control of him. I got scored on last night when I was fighting to control my goalie. Even to the point of holding down the V-key, it still wanted to keep switching the active player to one of the defenders close to the goal, but out of the way of the opposing player with the yooyu. I prefer to play 1-3 formation. Not that my defenders don't get to score points, just, it's easier to have one forward to do most of the maneuvering and have a good defensive line just in case the other team gets the yooyu. I also tend to LOATHE the AC in general, (from the time it ends, to the time it begins) because it takes so much time over the entire month, but even moreso if we can't earn personal rank and prize shop points on the weekends, as has been the case the last 2 ACs. I don't know about this year yet... But THAT'S when I, and most people I would imagine, can actually spend a good portion of the day playing in the AC! That being said, since I came off my last hiatus, almost a decade ago, I've played in every AC since. The lure of decent prizes is usually the reason. That, and I'd like to be playing when Maraqua wins it all. lol Oh yes, a warning about the goalie. If your goalie is holding a fire yooyu, do NOT face your own goal! The fire yooyu automatically launches after a couple of seconds, simulating the HEAT from the yooyu being like a "hot potato", and you can score against yourself if the goalie is looking at his own net when that happens. Happened to me, ONCE. LOL Years ago though. You can also score on the enemy with the goalie, but that goal will only count for the game, not in your total goal count on your stats page. Goalie + Fire Yooyu + Enlargement power-up + Luck. lol I've done that several times over the years. lol

Congrats on Rank 9! It SEEMS like they change the number of games needed to reach All-star every now and then (over the years). Once you reach All-star, it doesn't really mean you can afford the best prize shop prizes. You can continue to play and rack up prize shop points while helping your team overall beyond the All-star rank. You're rank won't change, but that's the only thing that doesn't. As far as the cheaters go, they're losers. Instead of the challenge, or the fun in the challenge, I think they get a kick out of gaming the system and raking in Neopoints when they sell their extras (prizes) from the AC. Kinda like the difference between protestors and rioters/looters. One group is legit, the other is using the first group as a cover for their illegitimate shenanigans. For them, it seems like the ends justify the means, whereas for regular players, you play by the rules and have some enjoyment out of doing a game well-played. For the good of the team and for hopefully enough prize shop points to afford something good.

I have several goals. 1) Rank higher than last year, All-star, if possible (Only got to All-star once). 2) Improve my GPG (Goals Per Game average) Last Year's final average was 12.8 (rounded up) With 2,658 goals in 208 games. 3) Get enough prize points to actually afford the freakin' Stamp this year! 4) Try again to score 18 goals in 1 game of YYB. My best score on record is 17-0 over the years. So far, I only managed 6 games last night, but scored 78 total goals from those 6 games. Even had 2 games at 15 goals scored. Counting the 2 games I've played today so far (15 and 14 goals respectively), my GPG average so far is 13.25, with 106 goals in 8 games. *sigh* I wish points scored counted toward Prize Points. I MEANT to inquire if that could be doable by TNT but I forgot until the AC was already upon us. Whoops!

Hey Shawn, I'm not really sure where they might be archived. I did a quick bit of looking on the TDN site, and there is a differences page that went up talking a bit about the old BD. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/original-battledome I too, miss aspects of the old BD. I rarely did 2p battles, but I was an avid 1p battler, and it was fun coming up with various sets and item ideas for my, at-the-time, underpowered pet. lol Finding uses for the 50% Reflectors and cheap weapons. It was pretty fun, still is, though I've seen fewer and fewer requests for help in that department. I'm kind of hoping to see another plot with battling soon. My peophin's stats are all maxed out (except Level and HP of course). I'd like to see how far I can go with my pet's current build and the intermediate arsenal he has. I don't know if there's a way to sort through the petpages, I know some had Battledome guide stuff on them. I JUST remembered one user's name that had old BD stuff on it. I checked out his ULU and he still has a page up for the old BD. http://www.neopets.com/~garmfry I too, have things about the old BD I miss. Like those faerie abilities especially those that had animated graphics, much more fun to look at imho. Plus I'm not a fan really of level-tiered abilities. I've said that since the old Ability system was scrapped. But the New BD has it's perks, despite a few bugs. You can get some rare, or formerly rare items as prizes, up to 15 prizes per day. And, well, I guess that's about it. LOL I WISH that TNT would give us players some more boost-levels. I've been playing for many years and as far as I know they've never increased it, not in the time I've played anyway. With the difficulty levels in the NEW BD, it would be nice to have a better shot at fighting some of the opponents on the Mighty difficulty. Like Snowy, and others. If we do have another battle plot, I hope they can get the stealing glitch fixed. During the Obelisk War, it was so much fun trying to Steal the boss' Prismatic Mirror. Since we can't get that item, and it reflects a LOT of damage back at the opponent, it can let you stay in the battle for more turns. If you play it right of course. lol Anyway, it's nice to reminisce about the old BD. There are some things I do miss, like species abilities and some things in the new BD I like. lol So I guess TNT didn't do so bad with the new BD. lol That reminds me, I've read that TNT plans (eventually) to bring species weaknesses and resistances back. I might be mistaken about this, but when I've gotten hit by the Lava Ghoul, spinning the Wheel of Excitement, my pet's HP drops more than halfway. I couldn't say for sure, but I think it could be because Peophins, in the old BD, had something like a 15% weakness to Fire. So, some places on the site, like the old Faerie Ability images (and page I think), still seem to exist.

LOL Not silly at all! I've had my peophin painted Stealthy before. But not from a brush. With the random Faerie Quests, it IS possible to get a Fountain Faerie quest. If you purchase NC, you can buy Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies. Gives you 1 guaranteed randomized Faerie Quest per day. You must either complete or cancel the quest in order to receive the quest for the next day. The cookie runs out exactly 9 days from when it's opened. 9x24 hours. The last 24 hours there will be a timer on the faerie quest page that counts down the last 24 hours to the time the cookie runs out. Only when one cookie runs out completely, can you open another Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie for another 9 days of quests. If you don't use NC, then you can always play games like Neoquest and other games that are on-site, non-flash games to increase your chances of getting random events. Of course, it's a shot in the dark whether or not you'll get a random faerie quest while playing, and then there are plenty of other faeries that might need a quest from you. So it's all hit or miss. All that said, best of luck!

You might get lucky and get a Random Faerie Quest for the faerie of the Rainbow Fountain. That's another possibility. Either way, good luck!

Try refreshing the page if it's not refreshing itself after you choose a faction. I've had to do that a couple of times too.

With the current pet limits, I'm a little surprised people are so excited for more pet slots. lol I probably won't be using my spare slot. I only have 2 pets on my main, and my peophin is usually the active pet. (Though Viragore still "steals" levels from scratchcards all the time. lol) I'm just not that "into" having a lot of pets. But it's cool to see so many people are. Let that creativity flow! Right? ?

@Yuiina I completely agree! It was only several years ago that I learned the apparent origin of Jack-o-Lanterns. Up until then I thought they were always pumpkins. Oh yes! The costume I had the longest was one my Mom made out of some white fabric and some glow-in-the-dark tape. It was a ghost costume, and I don't know where she got the glow in the dark tape for around the eye and mouth holes, but it only worked when you gave it a good dose of Light before going out. And even then, because it was twilight usually, there was still some light in the sky, so the effect was underwhelming. lol As you couldn't really see the glow. Even from the inside. lol Eventually, I added a cowboy hat and a holster and cap-gun to make the ghost costume that of a dead cowboy or sheriff. Just, something different with what I already had to work with. lol A lot of adults do, but if you look at people who enjoy cosplay, (costume play), like at anime conventions and such, they're pretty craftsy and able to make wonderfully detailed costumes. I've even seen costumes for sale online that individual people, not companies, made. The very LAST thing I did to celebrate Halloween, I mean pseudo-costume-wise, was to get a small travel pillow, and using some safety pics, I'd curl the top of it and pin it into place. Then I would pin it to the inside of a larger shirt, sweatshirt or hooded sweatshirt. A very quick and inexpensive hunchback look. lol I haven't done that in a few years though. lol I'm glad I could help provide you with some references then! Some places are going back to Trick-or-treat times being closer to twilight, sometimes later. Which is good in my opinion. It's not really as fun going out dressed as a spook when the sun is still high in the sky. lol

What an interesting post! I like Halloween just fine. Of course I live in the USA and celebrated it as a kid. I went Trick-or-Treating too. Sometimes the weather was good, sometimes it rained, and I've even gone trick-or-treating with snow on the ground! LOL If you're curious about the origins of Halloween, I'm sure there are plenty of websites that could provide really good info. One of the COOL things about Halloween, is that I learned a couple of years ago, that the Jack-o-Lantern, was ORIGINALLY lanterns carved into Turnips in Ireland. Used as lanterns at night for walking home, or wherever. Being half-Irish, I though this was really cool to learn. ? Of the few costumes I've worn from Childhood to about 14. I think my favorite was a costume I put together myself. Did a pic of it a long time ago... lol That staff actually had a button that lit up and sounded the roaring thunder when you pressed it. Sadly, it stopped working. lol I don't know how to fix it, so it's in storage somewhere. The rest of the costume was a Vampire Cape, with the color turned down because I was a wizard, NOT a vampire. The glow in the dark sword, which you can only see the hilt and crosspiece here, was the last bit I added to the costume. The patch-work hoodie, black slacks and black dress-shoes I already had. This costume I wore beyond just the age of 14, but I only wore it to have some fun. See, this costume helped me cast a dark and imposing figure. I would literally watch as kids crossed the street with their friends, or parents, to avoid crossing my path. When that would happen, I'd activate the staff, and that would draw kids and parents into my dark clutches...... lol Nah, they were fascinated by the staff because they'd probably never seen anything like it. And to think, I found it at Kmart for $19.99! So their curiosity got the better of them and they'd come up to ask about the staff and how it worked. It was really quite fun. I did this for about 2 years before the staff stopped working. The speaker for the Thunder sound came undone and I've yet to get the means to fix it. Also, here is a very old animated gif I did of some Monsters on Halloween night. This was intended to be a desktop background, but by the time I completed it, about 12 or so years after I started it, the standard/most popular screen resolution for computers was no longer 800x600, PLUS Windows seems to no longer support animated gif files in their newer OS versions. Really too bad. ? Otherwise, the only thing that's REALLY changed from Halloween when I was a kid, is that some places, for safety concerns, no longer have Trick-O-Treating closer to the twilight hours. Some places only do it when it's bright and sunny out. Not much fun, really. If a kid were to go solo, I can see the reason for concern, but kids tend to walk with other kids, or parents, so it should, in MOST cases, be FINE to trick-or-treat around Sunset, or later. ?

Meh I say, MEH! LOL I can beat my best score, but I can't break through the 1300 point threshold, so 1500 is REALLY not likely to happen. Guess I'm going with Abigail for this challenge. lol XD

Gah! It figures, DD starts with a game score I'll probably not get. ? My best score for DoM3 is about 250 points shy of the needed score. I might try to beat AAA, but I'm thinking I might just go for Abigail's this time. Just so I don't miss a day of getting a score in on-time for the same-day reward. Also, since it seems that AAA's weapon-prize is mediocre I guess I can pass on it. That being said, I wish they'd give us a little more time between such long events. First the AC that eats up a month, and now suddenly the DD which eats up about 3 weeks. Anyway, best of luck to everyone with the DD! I can grin about that at least. ?

lol At this point, yeah! Now IF they get the stealing aspect of the BD working again! (For the Heavy Robe of Thievery for instance). It would be useful up to the minimum to use it, 201 in movement points. Or maybe they plan on releasing some movement based equipment in the future? Still, free is free. ?

Firstly, welcome to the forums! ? I hope you enjoy your time here. LOL Nice! This is my 7th in a row, 9th overall. I dread the next year's AC from the time the present AC ends until the new one begins. lol Yet I still play. I wish they would fix some of the responsiveness issues, it would make the game go faster and more smoothly. I still play for a couple of reasons. 1) I like Maraqua and have only played for them, not counting when we all got to change teams as our teams were knocked out in the first 2 ACs so all the players could participate in the Finals. Then I didn't play until 2012's AC, (I was on a LONG Hiatus from Neopets), which brings us to this year's AC. It's a huge time commitment and I've only reached All-star once because I couldn't get time or in some years the motivation after a while, to get in all games necessary to reach All-star. YYB is the main game I play. Anyway, Reason 2) I like to see how much I've progressed from the previous year. Such as my goals per game average, and how many goals I can score in one game. Just got done with my 24th game of YYB for the AC with a score of 17-0. 3rd year in a row scoring that high and I think my 5th year total to do so. I know I had a Reason 3, but I guess I forgot it. lol Oh wait, I remember now. the Prizes!!!! In hopes a great new weapon will be released! But affording it with Prize Points is hit or miss. lol How I wish they'd count goals for prize-shop points in some way. LOL I also enjoy the Staff Tournament. ? It's nice to just have to guess or figure out who's good and picking them. Plus some of us keep track of our rosters from last year so when the new staff tourney rolls around we can compare notes and decide who we want on our teams. Maraqua's goalie could use some more training. I mean, when he misses a block, he ALWAYS falls flat on his face. It's annoying. lol After all these years, I think, as much as I'm not a chia-fan, we might swap him for the goalie from the Chia Practice Squad! LOL He'd probably be more effective. lol

So, who's joining Maraqua this year? And if you're a repeat player, how long have you been playing for Maraqua? I've only played for Maraqua for 9 ACs, I've only played 9 ACs. lol The first two, and then started back up in 2012 to now. I'm looking forward to playing more YYB and seeing if I can do a 3-peat for scoring. If I can score 17 goals in one game this year, it will be the 3rd AC in a row I've gotten a score of 17, 5th year in total. A real shame our goals don't do much except maybe advance goals per game averages of our front man Elon. lol My ideal goal would be to manage 18 goals in a game. I believe that would be a "Perfect Game" score. But, I doubt I can do that. Scoring would have to be perfect for EACH possession, and I always mess up either in the first or 3rd minute of play. lol Well, either I mess up or the opponent gets a lucky steal or shot in. lol XD So mainly I play to improve my scoring in YYB and my Goal per Game average. I'd LOVE it if Maraqua won the cup in a year I was playing. I've only reached All-Star ranking once. It's crazy how many games of YYB you gotta play, and now that off-days don't count, at least they didn't last year, toward your personal stats, I might not get back to all-star. lol I prefer playing with the keyboard, going from Right to Left, 1:3 formation, and our goalie could use some more training! LOL It's possible for the goalie to score a goal, but those don't count on the goal counter of your stats, and it's possible to score in 1 second instead of the usual 2, by getting a Fire Yooyu with the Enlargement Power-up. So that's a VERY RARE happening. BTW that's the same Yooyu/Item combo you need to score a goal with the goalie. Anyway, that's a bit about my AC history and some of the tricks I know. How about you guys?

MA-RA-QUA!!!! I've ALWAYS played for them and I shall continue to do so! It's just unlucky that game SCORES have little bearing on anything. I'm going to try for a 3-peat of scoring 17 goals this year. The 3-peat will be if I score 17 goals once this year, it will be 3 years in a row of scoring 17 in a single game. I think you'd need a robot or something to actually score 18, a perfect game of 18 SEEMS plausible, but something usually messes me up so a score of 17 is VERY rare. XD Last year I managed to score 17 5-times, the previous year, only once. Not at all the year prior to that, but I think I scored 17 the year before that.... didn't look into my records from that far back though. LOL I screenshot EVERY 10+ game. Initially I did it when I had a "high" scoring game, but the score didn't send. I was so frustrated because I couldn't PROVE to TNT that I had scored that high. So I started screenshoting those scores. But since scores don't really matter, the Win does, so I just did it to keep track of my progress over the years. I have screenshots going back to 2012 when I came off my last hiatus and started participating in Neopets and the AC again. Oh, and I was right, 4 AC's a go I had 3 games with scores of 17. Just none the 3rd AC ago. lol As long as I was checking on how far back my records went, I thought I'd double-check that. ?
